3. Determine the height position insi d e the rack enclosure where you want to mount the U PS or battery cabinet. Install rear memb er of each bracket assembly into rack enclosure with two (2) M5 screws provided in this kit. (See figure at right.) Return flanges on bracket assembly fit to the inside of rack mount- ing rails.
5. Prepare the UPS or battery cab- inet (the “equip ment”) for rack mounting by followin g instruc- tions in the equipm ent’s user manual. The eq uipment may require ad ditional part s to be added or parts to be removed for rack mounting. After it is pre- pared, la y equipment in rack- mounting position .
8. Secure fron t of the equipmen t to rack mounting rails to pr event the equipment from sliding out of posit ion. If sec uring holes are prov ided on front of the equipm ent that align with the center holes on return flange of front members, you can use the four (4) extra M5 screws provided in this kit to secure the equipment.
E XTERNAL B AT TERY C ABIN ET I NST ALLATION Optional Liebert external batte ry cabinets may be connected to the UPS to provide additional battery run tim e. External battery cabinet s are designed to be placed all on one side of the UPS or st acked beneath the UPS.
CONTROLS AND INDICATORS ON/Alarm Silence/Manual Batter y T est Button This button controls output powe r to connected load(s) and has three functions: •O N • Alarm Silence • Manual Battery T est ON - Pressing this button will s tart up the UPS in order to provide condi- tioned and protected power .
St andby / Manual Byp ass Button This button co ntrols outpu t po wer to connected load( s) and has dual functions: S tandby and Manual Byp ass. Load/Battery Level Indica to rs (4 Green , 1 Amber) The load/battery level indica tors have dual functions.
AC Input Indicator LED (Green) The AC Input indicator LED is illumina ted when utility power is available and within the input specificatio ns. Output V oltage Selection The Output V oltage is user.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS N ORMAL M ODE O PERATION During normal operation, util- ity power provide s energy to the UPS. The filters, powe r factor correction circuit and the inverter proc ess this power to provide compute r grade power to connected loads.
During battery mode an alarm sound s ev ery 10 seconds. This will change to two beeps eve ry 5 second s when the battery runs low (approx imately 2 minutes remaining, but this is user configurable). The AC Input LED will extinguish, and the Battery LED will illumi nate to warn that a utility prob- lem has occurred.
COMMUNICATIONS C OMMUNICATIONS I NTERFACE P ORT The UPS tati on GXT 2U UPS has a standard DB-9 serial port female con- nector located on the rear of the UPS unit. Sever al signals are provided on this port and are assigne d as follows: * Maximum volt age and current on pins 1, 7, 8, and 9 is 60 VDC; 10.
3. A battery shutdown signal on Pin 4 will NOT cause an immediate shutdown. A shut down signal will s t art a 2-minute sh utdown timer . The timer cannot be stopped.
If the config uration prog ram is used with an ear lier UPS mode l (with an earlier UPS firmwa re version) th at does not support the modification o f these settings, the Options tab will di splay a reminder of the factory default settings. These cannot be change d.
CONFIGURATION PROGRAM This is a new feature included with the new UPS t ation GXT 2U line. Sev- eral UPS settin gs that were previous ly not available or required custom manufacturing m ay now be modified using this progr am. For most users, the factory default settings will be adequate.
MAINTENANCE The UPS tation GXT 2U requires very little maintenance. The batteries are valve-regulated, nonspilla ble, flame retardant, lead acid, and should be kept charge d to obtain their de signe d life. The UPS cont inuously charges the batteries when connec ted to the utility supply .

If a problem persists, consult your local dealer , Liebert representative or contact the Li ebert Worldwide Support Group.
Fault and Bypass indicato r LEDs and all load level LEDs are illuminated. UPS overloaded or load equipment is faulty . Check load level display and remove non-essential loads. Recalculate the load and reduce number of loads connected to UPS. Ch eck load equipment for fa ults.
Fault and Bypass indicato r LEDs and diagnostic LED C and E are illuminated. UPS shutdown due to a command from the communicatio ns port(s). Y our UPS has received a signal or command from the attached computer . If this was inadvertent, ensure the communication cable used is correct for your system.
