7 Disc-related terms DVD ± R / DVD ± RW DVD -R and DVD +R are two different standards for recordable DVD drives and discs. This format allows information to be recorded onto the DVD disc only once. DVD +RW and DVD -R W are two standards for re-writable media, meaning the DVD content can be erased and re-recorded.

13 Preparation RF coaxial connection Connect the RF .OUT jack on the DVD+VCR to the antenna in jack on the TV using the supplied 75-ohm Coaxial Cable (R) . How to set the DVD+VCR’ s RF output channel 1. When the DVD+VCR is turned off, press and hold CH ( V/v ) on the front panel for more than five seconds.
14 HDMI Connection HDMI Connection If you have a HDMI TV or monitor , you can connect it to this DVD+VCR using a HDMI cable. 1. Connect the HDMI OUT jack on the DVD+VCR to the HDMI jack on a HDMI compatible TV or monitor (H). 2. Set the TV’ s source to HDMI (refer to TV’ s Owner ’s manual).

20 LOCK (Parental Control) Rating Some movies contain scenes that may not be suit- able for children to view . Many of these discs contain parental control information that applies to the com- plete disc or to certain scenes on the disc. Movies and scenes are rated from 1 to 8, depending on the area.
21 Preparation OTHERS The PBC, Auto Play , and B.L.E. settings can be changed. PBC Set Playback Control (PBC) to On or Off. On : Video CDs with PBC are played according to the PBC.

23 Slow Motion During slow motion, audio is muted and horizontal lines (noise bars) may appear on the TV screen. This is normal. 1. While in still mode, press FORW ARD ( M ). The tape is played at a speed 1/19 times slower than the normal speed. 2. Use CH/TRK ( v / V ) on the Remote Control if necessary to adjust the tracking.
