Basic Operation Lexicon 2-2 FRONT-PANEL OVERVIEW The ZX-7 front pa nel is shown below . The RX-7 front pane l is shown on page 2-3. The sta ndby button (1) is the only front-panel control on bo th amplifier models.
ZX-7/RX-7 Basic Operation 2-3 STANDBY BUTTON Activates and deactivate s standby mode wh en the ZX-7/RX-7 am plif ier is powered on with the rear panel power switch. The standby button (1) performs no fun ction when the amplifier is powered off with the re ar panel power switch.

ZX-7/RX-7 Basic Operation 2-7 1 & 2 UNBALANCED/BALANCED INPUT 1 TO 7 CONNECTORS Provides audio input for the sp eakers connected through t he unbalanced (RCA) inputs or ba lanced (XLR) inputs . The illustration below shows the appropriate cable pin-out for XLR connectors.

ZX-7/RX-7 Basic Operation 2-9 POWER CONTROL CONNECTIONS The ZX-7/RX-7 features a built-in remote power-on system that will automatically sw itch the amplifier on when another device in the system is switched on.
Basic Operation Lexicon 2-10 REMOTE POWER ON WITH EXTERNAL AC TO DC POWER CONVERTER If your preamplifier , processor or receiver does not have a dedicated trigger jack, it is still possible to activate the unit for automatic power on when a switched outlet is available on the sour ce device rear panel.
ZX-7/RX-7 Basic Operation 2-11 PROTECTION MODE The ZX-7/RX-7 is equipped to pr otect itself against potentially damaging condit ions such a s over heating, mis-wiring and electrical failures. Under such conditions , the ZX-7/R X-7 will enter a protection mode.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Lexicon 3-2 T ROUBLESHOOTING The amplifier does not power on . 1. Check the rear panel circuit breakers. Ensure breakers have not been tripped. 2. Attempt to power on the amplifie r with the f ront panel Standby button .
Lexicon Troubleshooting & Maintenance 3-3 component is properly grounde d and connected to the same electrical ground as the ZX-7/RX-7. 3. T urn off all components w ithin your system, and then disconnect the input cable on the amplifier . T urn th e amplifier back on.
