1-1 1 Setting Up the Printer Package Contents The K OD AK 8810 Photo Print er is packag ed with the follo wing items: 1. Printer 2. Exit tra y (not installed) 3. T rim tra y (not installed) 4. 1-2 Setting Up the Printer Preparing the Printer for Use CAUTION: The printer w eighs approximately 60 lbs (2 7 kg) and is heavier at the front than at the back. Alwa ys use tw o people when lifting or moving the printer . NO TE: K eep the carton and packaging in case you e ver need to tr ansport the printer .

Setting Up th e Printer 1-5 4. Insert your finger s into the holes in the plasti c wrapper on the end of the ribbon. R emove the plasti c wrapper fr om the ribbon. IMPORT ANT : Do not remo ve the label fr om the ribbon at this time. 5. Push the end of the supply spool without the bar code onto the front spool holder on the right.
1-6 Setting Up the Printer 9 . Push the right side of the tak e-up spool on to the r ear spool holder on the right. 10. Insert the left side of the tak e-up spool onto the spool holder on the left. 11. R otate the tak e-up spool until it locks into plac e.
Setting Up the Printer 1-7 4. Align the lugs on the blue flan ge with the no tches in the paper r oll, then insert into the new pa per roll. Insert the r ed flange into the other end of the roll. NO TE: If the paper flanges ar e improperly attached t o the roll, the paper roll will not fit into the printer .
1-8 Setting Up the Printer 7 . Gently close the paper door . NO TE: The ribbon must be loaded in the prin ter ( see page 1-4 ) before the paper automatically lo ads and advances. The printer loads the paper . It then prints a blank sheet —the portion of the roll that may have fingerprints as a result of handling.
