Based on the same design philosophy as the original KICKER Amplifier , the ZX460 four–channel amplifier fr om S tillw ater Designs e xpands and impro ves the standar ds for car audio amplifier performance.
2 MOUNTING INS TR UCTIONS The orientation of the amplifier is critical to proper cooling. The cooling fins are designed to operat e best when the amp is in a vertical position or mounted flat with the fins up.
3 (Mounting Instructions, continued) Use KICKER End Caps and KICKER Sink Links to cover exposed end panels and hiding wiring in multiple amplifier installations.
WIRING INS TR UCTIONS All power and speak er connect ors will accept up to 8 gauge wire. It is very impor tant that the scre ws in the amplifiers’ t erminal strips are very tight.
5 Setting the ZRX Bypass Mode - Amplifier reproduces the full frequency range Low Pass Mode - Amplifier frequencies 80Hz and lower High Pass Mode - Amplifier frequencies 1 00Hz and higher IMPORT ANT OPERA TION NOTES An Active Signal Processing Module must be installed in the Module Docking Por t in order for the amplifier t o operate.
6 SPECIAL FEA TURES • T o under stand all t he dif ferent system possibilities, t hink of the KICKER ZX460 as tw o separate amplifiers in one chassis: Amp 1 and Amp 2, each ha ving tw o channels. • When only two RC A cables are plugged int o t he Amp 1 inputs, the ZX460 automatically distributes the left channel to Amp 1 left and Amp 2 left.

The gain control is provided for lev el matching purposes; it does not give the amplifier an y more pow er by turning it up – its purpose is to adjust the sensitivity of the amplifier in relation t o the output level provided by the source.
9 OPTIONAL ACTIVE SIGNAL PR OCESSING MODULES All KICKER amplifiers ha ve a Module Docking Port, which allow s t he use of any KICKER Module. These modules greatly increase your amplifier’s v ersatility , and cost very little when compared to “stand alone” units with the same functions.
10 TROUBLE SHOOTING Note: It is normal for the yello w trouble LED to blink when the amplifier is turned on or off. This is a function of the pro tection circuit looking for trouble.
