English 9 Always install the system on a at, stable surface. When installing the system on a stand of some sort, be sure to check the strength of the stand. The magnets used in the speakers may cause color irr egularities on TV or PC screens. Do not set up the speakers too close to a T V or PC.

11 English Connecting the Sy stem The antenna supplied with the system is a basic antenna f or indoor use. F or stable signal reception, the use of an outdoor antenna (commercially av ailable unit) is recommended. T o connect an outdoor antenna, rst remove the indoor antenna.

Ensure that all the cords are secur ely connected. Loose or incomplete c onnections may result in noise interference or no sound at all.
English 13 Connecting the Sy stem SUB WOOFER PRE OUT Connect a subwoofer (such as the optional SW -40HT ) to the [SUB W OOFER PRE OUT ] terminal on the rear panel of the main unit. 14 R-K711 D .AUDIO E (P .44) Main unit Standby Mode While the [ST ANDBY/TIMER] indicator on the main unit is lit, the unit is using a very weak current to maintain the built-in memory. This is called Standby mode. When the main unit is in this mode, you can turn it on using the remote control .

48 R-K711 Automa tically Setting the Acoustic E ec ts for the Room ( A UT O ROOM EQ) The system measur es the test signal emitted from the speakers using the micr ophone supplied with the system and automatically sets the optimum ac oustic e ect for the size of the room and the location in which the stereo is installed.
