Connection a nd star t-up Connection and start-up The f ollowing section is spec ifically intended for the spec ialist dealer. You only need to read this sec tion if you are carrying out the installation y ourself . You will find sample c onfigurations in the s ection "Connection ex amples".
Connection a nd star t-up LNB-supply vol tage If the f eed sy stem (LNB) is powered by an external supply voltage and the LNB supply voltage is not used for s witching over polarity (e.g. Kathrein feed system UAS 330), the LNB supply of the receiver m ust be s et to "OFF" (see s ection " stallation m enu, LNB configur ation“).
First time installation First time installat ion The first steps Connect the receiver to the mains power supply . Switch on the receiver by pressing the power button at the front of the unit. You will see "- - - -“ in the LED display, afterwards "0000.
On screen disp lays On screen display s Important screen display s The rec eiver func tions are controlled by a micr oprocessor and extensive sof tware. The f ollowing explanations are intended to im prove understanding of all proce- dures and to m inimis e the risk of mis takes.
On screen disp lays provided in the colum n below the symbol. The c olumn on the lef t contains infor ma- tion relating to the channel, the progr amm e provider and whether the progr amm e is norm ally scram bled. T he required program m e can be selected with the bar cur sor and confir med by pressing the O button.
Programme selection Programme selecti on This section desc ribes how y ou select analogue and digital T V program me with y our receiver and how y ou can set the required volum e. This description of the functions as sumes that the receiver has been c onnected correctl y .
Programme selection Reception status analog ue W hen you receive an analogue program m e, y ou can also c all up other program mes with the ou buttons. Analogue program mes appear e for a short tim e recognis able on the white display , e.g.: TV 59 DER KINDERKA STEREO By press ing the O button the selected program me is shown in the sam e form .

Timer settings Timer settings You can use the tim er for rec ording a program m e with a video recorder on tim e. Seven time rs are available which you can set to diff erent program m es as well as start and end tim es.
Sound settings Sound settings Setting the volume Set the required volum e level by pressing the -+ buttons on the rem ote control of the receiver. A bar indicator is dis play ed on the screen to s how the set volume.
Programme list - TV/radio Programme lis t - T V/radio The progr amm es /channels set at the fact ory can be changed in the " progr amm e list" m enu. Select the m enu by pr essing the M button, the ou buttons as well as -+ for TV or radio and O .
Programme list - TV/radio Programme assortment You can sort program m es as desir ed. The program m es are sor ted by shifting the entries in the program m e lists. Press the M button to ac cess the m ain menu. Selec t " program m e list" by press - ing the ou buttons.
Programme list - TV/radio The highlighted line c an now be prepared for deletion by pressing the O button. The c ontrol program me now ask s: "Do y ou want to delete this program m e?" Confirm your desired selection by pressing the cor responding button.
Programme list - TV/radio Only alphanumerical and dec imal entries are accepted at the positions name, · · · · · video PID (program m e identification) , audio PID, PCR PID (PCR = Program m e Clock Ref erence) and audio PID dig. Incorrec t PID entries are rejec ted with the display ed m essage.
A dding/remov ing satellites A dding/ removing satelli tes Setting up a satellite The LNB c an naturally also accom m odate new satellites. All new settings must be carried out from one digital progr amme position because of the connected on sc reen displays .
A dding/remov ing satellites To enter a satellite n ame You can change the satellite nam es in the LNB conf iguration menu with the num - ber buttons. Ref er to section "operating ins tructions" f or inform ation about the ex- act procedur e.
Programme ov erv iew Programme overvi ew EPG W ith the z button, you receive an overview of the progr amm es (see on-s creen display) currently received from the trans ponder with time and duration, provided that they are broadcast with elec- tronic progr amm e guide (EPG), f or exam ple, with ARD and ZDF.
Passw o rd Password You can prevent y our satellite rec eiver to be used by unauthorised persons by means of a password. W ith this password, you can ensure your reception settings are not changed by other persons. At the sam e tim e, y ou can activate the parental control f unction to lock out various program m es.
Passw o rd Here, use the ou buttons to s elect the "Program m e list" entry. Using the -+ buttons, you can now specify whether y ou want to edit the TV or r a- dio list. Confir m your selection with O . The des ired program me is now display ed on the s creen.
Passw o rd Operation from front panel If you have misplaced the r emote c ontrol or the batteries are em pty, y ou can s till operate you receiver from the fr ont panel. Backup operation On the fr ont panel, there are 6 buttons at your disposal. The On /Off button, m enu, selec t, and the cursor buttons with horiz ontal and vertical arrows.

Only extensions to the receiving s y s tems or modif ications ca ll for new settings.

Passw o rd Installation menu You should not change the following settings without good reason as they r epre- sent fac tory settings or oper ational settings that are adapted to your receiving sys- tem. New settings are only required when changes or expansions are m ade to the re- ception system.
Installa tion menu Changing the oscillator frequency Move over to the right-hand side in the LNB c onfiguration m enu by press ing O and the setting for LO High will be highlighted in colour. Using the num ber buttons, y ou can now enter a fr equency m atching y our system.
Passw o rd DiSEqC setting The precondition for this setting is that you hav e made no changes in the DiSEqC (UFO) set-up, refer to the se ction "DiSEqC (UF O) Set-up".

You will need to delete the previously alloc ated address when using the r eceiver for the f irst tim e together with a UFO micro receiving s y stem .
A nalogue se tting A nalogue setting In general, you do not need to alter the analogue programm es. New analogue pro- gram mes are unlikely to appear due to digital television's advancem ent. T he pro- gram me data is already fact ory preset or will be stor ed during the search.
