Connection a nd st art-up Connection and start-up The f ollowing section is spec ifically intended for the spec ialist dealer. You only need to read this section if y ou ar e carrying out the installation yourself. You will find sample c onfigurations in the s ection "Connection exam ples".
Connection a nd st art-up LNB supply voltag e If the feed sy stem (LNB) is powered by an ex ternal supply voltage and the LNB supply voltage is not used for switching polarity, the LNB supply of the receiver mus t be set to "OFF" ( see section "Installation menu, LNB c onfiguration").
First time inst allation First time installa tion The first steps Connect the receiver to the mains power s upply . Switch on the receiver by pressing the power button on the front of the unit. The dis play , " - - - -, “ appears in the LED display.

TV channel identifier The c hannel identifier is dis play ed for s everal seconds every time the channel is changed or by pressing the O button.
On screen displays / OSD Programme l ist – Radio/TV Press the i button to ac cess the program me list. A + for the m ain progr amm e list is indicated at the top left. Inf orm ation about the channel, program m e provider, and whether the programm e is normally encry pted is found underneath.
Programme selection Programme selecti on This section descr ibes how y ou s elect TV pr ogramm es with your receiver and how you can set the desired volum e. For this des cription of the f unctions, it is as sum ed that the receiver has been connected c orrectly.
Programme selection A further option for selec ting a differ ent program me is to press the i button. The T V program me lis t is now displayed. T he upper right-hand c olumn pr ovides inform ation relating to the rec eived satellites, the transponder and its tr ansmis sion frequency, the polarisation, the symbol r ate and the scram bling.
Programme selection Selecting a TV programme by number entry You can select a diff erent T V programm e during a running T V program me by entering the program m e location number . Use the number buttons 1 to 0 for the purpos e of entering the program me loc ations.

Common In terface The following displays depend on the module and the ca rd and are, therefore, in tended only for exampl e. W ith the O button, arrive in a menu, which is gener ated from the module. W hen a card is not available, a m ess age appears.
Common In terface Note for the Conax -, SECA-, Viacces s and Cry ptoW or ks us er: Please observe, that the pr ogramm e providers carry out the clearing of pay-TV cards by differ ent monthly release intervals. T herefore, the clearing can oc cur a few days before or after the start of the m onth.
T imer settings Timer settings You can us e the tim er for recording a progr amm e with a video recorder on tim e. 14 timers are available which you can set for diff erent program mes as well as start and end tim es.
T imer settings Confirm the settings by pressing M or L three tim es. If you have pre -programmed a download per timer, a ll following timer settings will be ignored after a successful dow nload! VPS signal Make c ertain, that no VPS signal is inc luded in the digital television signal.
Sound settings Sound settings Setting the volume Set the required volum e level by press ing the -+ buttons on the rem ote control of the receiver. A bar indic ator is displayed on the screen to s how the set volume.
Sound settings In order to reproduc e the AC3 form at, set your receiver to “2 of 2" or "2 of 2 (2c h)" in the audio menu under "Stereo." The corresponding transm ission – "5.1 Ch" (5 c hannels + 1 subwoofer c hannel) is then indicated at “Dig.
Programme list Programme lis t The progr amm e/channel settings set at the factor y can be changed in the menu, "Pr ogram me list." Ac cess the m enu by pressing the i button, the ou buttons as well as -+ for TV or radio and confir m s election with O .
Programme list W ith the -+ and ou buttons select the desired program me, which will be highlighted with a coloured bar. The bar c an be shifted page-by-page or line-by-line with the cursor buttons. You c an also enter the desir ed program me num ber with the numer ical buttons.
Programme list Press the i button to acc ess the program m e list, and with the F button you can acc ess the favour ite list. Use the ou buttons to select a f avourite program m e. It is then highlighted by a coloured bar. Press the R button to be in the writing m ode.
Programme list After f inishing the letter entry, confirm it by pr essing O . You return to the program me lis t. Press M to return to the televis ion screen. Your changes ar e saved and confir med, and an inf o display of the c urrent received program m e appears f or a few second on the sc reen.

You can now move it to the desir ed position using the -+ and the ou buttons. Plac e the selected program m e on the respective pr ogramm e position by pressing O .
Programme list Use the -+ and ou buttons to selec t the position of the program m e, which y ou would lik e to delete. Be careful w hen deleting progra mmes! Now, confirm the deletion of the pr ogramm e with the T button. The c ontrol program me as ks: Confirm the desire pr ocedure with the respective buttons.

Programme ov erv iew Programme overvi ew EPG W ith the z button, you receive an overview of the progr amm es (see on- screen display) currently received fr om the transponder w ith time and dur ation, provided that they are broadcast with electronic program me guide (EPG), for example, with ARD and ZDF.

Passw o rd Password You can prevent y our satellite rec eiver to be used by unauthorised persons by m eans of a pas sword. W ith this pas sword, y ou can ensure y our reception settings are not changed by others. At the sam e tim e, y ou can activate the parental c ontrol function to loc k out various program m es.
Passw o rd Carry out the following settings in this on-s creen display: Age limit: This s etting is only effective, if the corres ponding lock- out signals are sent together with the transmiss ion. Lock l ist: Y es /No. W ith this option you can lock or unlock the editing function f or program m e lists.
Passw o rd Parental lock You can s et the parental lock in a m anner s imilar to that used f or ma rking f avourite program m es with the "Apple" sy mbol. T his denies children access to unsuitable program m es. The "Padloc k" symbol is used to identify the program mes in the "TV" or "radio" programm e lists.
Passw o rd After c alling up the locked pr ogramm e with the number keys, the me ssage, "This program me is locked" appear s and the programm e can not be seen. After pr essing L and calling up a lock ed program m e over the program m e list, y ou will be asked to enter in your password in order to watch the lock ed program me.
Operation from front p ane l Operation from front panel If y ou have m isplaced the r emote contr ol or the batteries are em pty , y ou can still operate you receiver f rom the front panel. Backup operation On the fr ont panel, there are 6 buttons at your disposal.
Setting system p arameters Setting sy stem parameters The f ollowing settings should not be altered without good reason, since they are factory settings or operational settings , matc hed specif ically to y our rec eiving system. Only extensions to the receiving s y stem s or m odifications call for new settings.

Setting system p arameters A ntenna settings This menu is intended s olely for s ervice purposes and, if need be, i.e. if no m easuring ins trument is available, it can be used to align the antenna (satellite dish) . The s atellite can be defined in the fir st line and the transponder in the second.
Setting system p arameters Satellite search The receiver allows you to search for pr ogramm es on a s atellite in the menu s atellite search. W ith the ou buttons, move to the m enu line.

Setting system p arameters TP set-up/search In this m enu, y ou can scan thr ough the transponders f or specif ic program mes , e.g. when new programm es are off ered in the pac kage of a spec ific broadc aster. You can obtain this inf ormation f rom SAT 1 teletext or c orresponding T V and satellite m agaz ines as well as fr om the Internet.

After an uns uccessf ul search, the f ollowing mess age appears: Error A ll new programme s are added to the existing progr amme list.
Setting system p arameters DiSEqC [UFO] Set-up You should only mak e changes in this menu, when the receiver is connected to another rec eiving sy stem with different f eatures or if changes have been m ade to the receiving s y s tem. Pay close attention to the instr uctions of your Sat IF system.

V ideo recorder c onnection Video recorder connection The c onnection diagram provided at the end of this oper ating manual and the description of the video recorder will show y ou how you should connect your video recorder to the receiver.
