2 IMPOR T ANT PRECA UTIONS – Read First! Saf ety W ar nings When using this product, basic precau- tions should alwa ys be f ollowed: • Read all the instructions bef ore using the product. • High pressure jets can be dangerous if subject to misuse.
3 W ater Supply (Cold W ater Only) • W ater hose must be at least 3/4 inch in diameter . • Flow r ate of water supply must not f all below 2.5 GPM (gallons per minute). • Flow r ate can be determined by running the water f or one minute into an empty 5-gallon container .
Step 2 Install the V ario spray w and into the wand e xtension. Push in and turn clockwise to lock spra y wand in place. OPERA TING INSTR UCTIONS 4 Step 1 Connect the high pressure hose to the unit’ s high pressure outlet. Step 3 Connect the garden hose to the water inlet using the quic k connect adapter and coupling.
5 The V ario spray w and allows y ou to adjust the cleaning pressure. T o clean at maximum pressure, the V ar io wand must be positioned to the high pressure setting (+). T o apply detergent, the wand must be positioned to the lo w pressure setting (-).
6 WORKING WITH DETERGENTS Step 2 Fill a container with Karcher detergent. Set metering valve on filter to desired dosage. Place the filter end of detergent suction tube into the container . Step 3 T ur n on the pressure washer . Pull trigger to operate unit: Liquid detergent is drawn into the unit and mix ed with water .
SHUTTING DO WN & CLEAN-UP 7 WINTERIZING AND LONG-TERM ST ORAGE 1. Disconnect all water connections. 2. Star t the machine for a f ew seconds, until the water which had remained in the pump exits . T ur n off immediately . 3. Do not allow high pressure hose to become kinked.
8 CLEANING TIPS Deck Cleaning (with or without detergent) Pre-rinse deck and surrounding area with fresh water . If using Kärcher Deck W ash, place detergent suction tube directly into cleaning solution and apply to surface at lo w pressure. For best results , limit your w ork area to smaller sections of approximately 25 square feet.
9 CLEANING TIPS – continued Barbecue Grills, Outdoor P ower Equipment & Gardening T ools (with or without detergent) Pre-rinse cleaning surface with fresh water . If using Kärcher All Purpose Cleaner or Degreaser , place detergent suction tube directly into cleaning solution and apply detergent at low pressure.
10 TROUBLESHOO TING Disconnect the machine from the power source bef ore making any repair . Symptom Cause Solution Motor will not star t. Unit does not reach high pressure. Output pressure varies high and low . Extension cord is too long. Extension cord is not proper gauge.
11 TROUBLESHOO TING – continued Symptom Cause Solution No detergent. Garden hose connection leaks. Pump is noisy . W ater leaks from pump . Oil Drip. Detergent is too thick. Dilute detergent, f or best results use Kärcher detergent. Filter on detergent suction tube is clogged.
