17 Sharing Files Sharing Overview Your Iomega StorCe nter is set up for stori ng, retrievin g, and accessing fi les amon g users, client computers, and a pplications. Note: File sharing is accomplished b y creating Sha res; setting up sec urity, which i ncludes creating users; setting up m edia servi ces; and configuring Acti ve Folders.

Shares are folders t hat contain all ty pes of co ntent, i ncluding docume nts, pictures, an d music files. Shares can be pub lic, meaning anyon e accessing yo ur px12 -400 r can access the co ntent in the Shares.
Sharing Files 19 Adding Shares 1. From the Iomega Sto rCenter Consol e, click Shares . 2. To add a new Share , click Add a Share . Type a nam e for the Sha re. All S hares must have a name. Names ca nnot exceed 32 chara cters. The follo wing are not valid Shar e names : global, homes, printers.
