4 1: I NST ALLA TION Introduction The IBM ® UPS 750 0XHV and UPS 100 00XHV models a re high -perform ance uninterr uptible p ower suppl ies, designed t o pre- vent blackouts, brownouts, sags, and surges from reaching your com puter and other sensitive elect ronic equi pment.
5 Positioning the Uninterruptible Power Supply 32–55 kg (70–120 lb) Attention: T he uninterruptible power supply will remain heavy without the ba ttery modules.
6 2. Switch the uni nterrupti ble power s upply input circ uit breaker (see A in the diagram that follows) and the utility circuit breakers off. 3. Remove the access panel (see B in the diagram). 4. Remove the circular knockouts on the access panel. 5.

9 Connecting Equipment and Power to the Rear Panel of the Uninterruptible Power Supply INDEX ITEM DESCRIPTION 1 Outlets Connect equipment to th e uninterruptible power supply. 2 Output Circuit Breakers Each circu it breaker protects its neare st outlet.
10 Selecting the Output Vo ltage via Terminal Mode Terminal Mode is a menu driven interface that enables en ha nce d configuration of the un interruptible power su pply. Connect the serial cable to the serial port on the back of the uninterruptible power supply.
11 2: O PERA TION Front Display Panel I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTION Online This LED is lit when the uninterruptible pow er supply is supplying utility power to the connected equipment and performing double con version to supply power to the con- nected equipment.
12 F EATURE F UNCTION Diagnostic Utility Voltage The uninterruptible power supply has a diagnos tic featur e that disp lays the utility volt- age. Note: The uninterruptible pow er supply starts a se lf-test as part of this procedur e. The self-test does not affect the voltage display.

19 P ROBLEM AND P OSSIBLE C AUS E S OLUTION BYPASS AND OVERLOAD LEDS ARE LIT ; UNI NTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY EMITS A SUSTAINED ALARM TONE The uninterruptible power sup- ply is overlo aded. The con- nected equipment is drawing more VA or more watts than the uninterruptible power sup- ply can sustain.
