Always observe the following precaution s to reduce the risk of injury and property damage. Do not attempt to service a produ ct yourself un less instructed to do so by the IBM HelpCe nter. Use only an IBM authorized service provider wh o is approved to repair your particular product.
All IBM personal computers co ntain a non-recharg eable coin cell battery to provide power to the system clock. In addition many mobile pr oducts such a s Thinkpad notebook PCs utilize a rechargeable battery pack to provide system power when in portable mode.
Important : Before connecting the monit or, turn off the computer and attached devices. Also, ensure the power at the electrical outlet matc hes the power requirem ents of the monitor. Refer to the “Specifications” section on page 2 0 for more details.
