11 Idle Dis play Low Battery Display The telepho n e will indicate that the batte ri es are low (o r not installed) by displaying a low batter y indi- cator, “BATT”, on the display. Dialing Display As you dial 12345, the display shows the numbers dialed and begins the call timer.

15 COUNTER TOP/DESK TOP INSTALLATION 1. For lines 1 and 2, plug the tel ephone lin e cord (provided with the telephone ) i nto the L1/L2 jack as indicated on the rear base of the telephon e. 2. For lines 3 and 4, plug the other telephone line cord (provided with the telephone) into the L3/L4 jack as indicated on the rear base of the telephone.
16 Adjusting the Vi ewing Angle Brackets Adjust the vie wing angle brackets (one on each side of the phone) to pos ition the phone to the desired viewing an gle. Take care to keep the right side bracket o n the right side o f the phone and the left bracket on the l eft side of th e pho ne.
17 Wall Mounting Instructions : 1. Pick up the hand set. 2. Sli de th e ha ndset c atc h (im me diat ely i n front of hand set hook f lash lev er) up and off the ha ndset cradle. 3. Rotate the handse t catch a half turn and s lide it back into the slot.

21 MAKING AN OUTGOING CALL Using the Handset 1. Lift the hands et. The first ava ilable line is automatically selecte d. 2. Dial desired nu mb er. The display will show the digits as they are dialin g. 3. At the end of the call, return the handset to the base.
22 USING AUTO REDIAL If th e phone n umb er dia led i s busy or n ot ans wered, the p hon e can a utom ati cal ly redia l th e numb er approximately every 60 seconds up to 10 times. 1. Press an available [LINE] key [LINE1, LINE2, LINE3, or LINE4] 2. Press [RE DIAL].

24 MAKING AN OUTGOING CALL USING THE HEADSET 1. The [SPKR] LED w ill flash to i ndicate the phone is in headset mode . 2. Press the [SPKR] key. An available line is automatically selecte d. 3. Dial the desired number, using standard dial pad, speed dial or redial keys.
25 The I nterc om functi on allows exte nsion- to-ex tensi on conver sations (phone s mus t be co nnecte d to [LI NE 1]). Th at means you can spe ak wi th anothe r party wi thout h avi ng to dial s even d igits ( using an outs ide line). As you direct an intercom call to a n extension that ext e nsion will ring and display a flashing ICM LED.
26 7. If the calle d number is se t on Do Not Dis turb [DND], yo u will hear a n ICM bus y tone. The called party will no t hear anything, but that e xtension ’s ICM LED will flash. ANSWERING AN INTERCOM CALL Answering an Intercom Call with the Handset 1.

29 Setting the Caller ID Local Area Code 1. Press [ST ORE] key. 2. Press [7], [1]. 3. Key in 1 to 5 digits as the area code. 4. Press [MUTE]. 5. 30 Erasing Caller ID Records In order to delete a specific Calle r ID record in the lo g: 1. Using the [ < ] or [ > ] key, f ind t he pa rtic ular rec ord y ou w ould like t o del ete.. 2. Pres s th e [ER ASE] key . Th e LC D di spla y will indic ate th at th e record has b een d elet ed.
31 PAUSE You may use this feature to create a dialing pause between digits duri ng a call. 33 SPEED DIALING Ther e are a total of 2 4 mem ory locati ons locate d in two gr oups, i n which you c an store your Speed Dial numbers. Each memory location can store up to 24 digits, including PAUSE, FLAS H, PULSE and TONE. Storing Numbers into the Firs t Speed Dial Group 1.

35 There may be times when you wish to manually turn off the flashing voice mail indicator. To do this: 1. The phone is in idle mode press [ERASE] key 2. The display will r ead “Del MW indicator ”. 3. Press [ERA SE] key to confirm. 4. A short ring will be heard to signal succes sful programming.

39 Handset doesn’t appear to be working. • Chec k to see if your p hone i s in h eadset mod e. If the [ SPKR] key is fl ashi ng, you ar e in h eads et mode and need to deactivate this in order to turn on the handset. • Make sure the handset cord is con n ected at both ends.
