English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General w orking instructions Basic safety rules • Look around you: - T o ensure that people, animals or other things cannot aff ect your control of the machine . - T o make sure that none of the abo ve come into contact with the cutting blade .
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Mov e the blade slo wly f orwards and bac kwards to achie v e a small contact area between the b lade and the material to be cut. This reduces the temperature of the b lade and ensures eff ective cutting. • F eed down the machine in line with the b lade.
English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Pinching/r otation If the cut is pressed together this can lead to jamming. The machine can be pulled down suddenly with a v ery powerful jerk. How to a v oid pinching Suppor t the work piece in such a wa y that the cut remains open during the cutting operation and when the cut is finished.
12 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Ensure the blade it not cr ack ed or damaged in any other w ay . T est the abr asive disc b y hanging it on your finger and tapping it lightly with a screwdriv er or the like . If the disc does not produce a resonant, ringing sound it is damaged.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Assembling the cutting head Remov e the bolt (1) and nut (2). Remove the guard. Fit the drive belt on the clutch drum. Fit the guard and tighten the screws . Run the drive belt ov er the cutting head’ s belt pulley (2). P osition the belt guard and secure the cutting head together with the belt guard.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys been r un using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 15 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting and stopping Starting a cold engine Ignition: Slide the ignition s witch to the left. Choke: Pull the choke control fully out. Start throttle lock: Press in the throttle trigger lock, throttle control and then the star t throttle lock (A).
16 – English MAINTENANCE T ensioning the drive belt • The drive belt is fully enclosed and well protected from dust and dir t. • When tensioning the drive belt, slightly loosen the nuts (A) holding the cutting head and belt guard. • T urn the tension screw so that the nut (B) aligns with the arrow on the guard.
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Fuel filter • The fuel filter sits inside the fuel tank. • The fuel tank must be protected from contamination when filling. This reduces the risk of operating disturbances caused by b lockage of the fuel filter located inside the tank.
18 – English MAINTENANCE Starter Changing a br oken or worn starter cord • Loosen the screws that hold the starter against the crankcase and remov e the star ter. • Pull out the cord appro x. 30 cm and hook it into the notch in the rim of the pulley .
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburettor adjustment. • Wrong fuel mixture (too much oil). • A dir ty air filter . These f actors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and starting difficulties.
