English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Steps before using a ne w power cutter • Please read the operator’ s manual carefully and make sure you understand the instructions bef ore using the machine. • The machine is only designed f or cutting hard materials, such as concrete, brick, masonry as well as cast iron and cement pipes.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General safety precautions W ork area safety • K eep wor k area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents . • Ne ver use the machine indoors . Be aw are of the dangers of inhaling the engine’ s exhaust fumes.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Fuel safety (Refuelling/Fuel mixture/Stora ge.) • Ne ver refuel the machine while the engine is running. • Make sure there is plenty of v entilation when refuelling or mixing fuel (gasoline and 2-stroke oil). • Mov e the machine at least 10 ft (3 m) from the refuelling point bef ore star ting it.
8 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS CA UTION! Nev er use a machine that has a f aulty muffler . Throttle loc kout The throttle trigger lock is designed to pre v ent accidental operation of the throttle. When the loc k (A) is pressed in this releases the throttle (B).
English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Throttle loc kout • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock out is released. • Press the throttle lock out and make sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Blade vibrations The blades can become out of true and vibrate if a too high f eed pressure is used. A lower f eed pressure can stop the vibration. Otherwise replace the blades . See the instructions under the heading Assembling the b lades.
English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Cut in the same direction when cutting into an e xisting cut. A void cutting at an angle to the previous cut otherwise there is a risk of the blade jamming or that the machine can ”climb in the cut”. • Alwa ys cut from top to bottom (A).
12 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General rules • Ne ver cut upw ards or tow ards you so that the kic kback zone becomes activ ely cutting. • Alwa ys hold the machine in a fir m grip with both hands. Hold it so that the thumbs and fingers grip round the handles.

14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-strok e engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 15 ST ARTING AND ST OPPING Bef ore star ting W ater connector Connect the water hose to the w ater supply . The water flo w is regulated using the water tap . Starting a cold engine Decompression v alve: Press in the v alve to reduce the pressure in the cylinder , this is to assist star ting the power cutter .
16 – English MAINTENANCE Inspecting and adjusting the drive belt • The drive belt is fully enclosed and well-protected from dust, dir t and mechanical damage when cutting. • Check the driv e belt adjustment by f eeling with your fingers as illustrated.
English – 17 MAINTENANCE • Pull off the cutting arm by pulling it straight f orwards , as illustrated. • Remov e the complete dr ive belt (D). • Loosen the six screws (F) holding the guards on the cutting arm. • Fit the new driv e belt (K). • Refit the guards and belt cov er.
18 – English MAINTENANCE Air filter Air filters must be regularly cleaned to remov e dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Less power • Unnecessar y wear to engine parts • Excessive fuel consumption.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Star ter Changing a br oken or worn starter cord • Loosen the filter and cylinder cov er. • Loosen the screws that hold the starter against the crankcase and remov e the star ter. • Pull out the cord appro x. 30 cm (12 inches) and hook it into the notch in the rim of the pulley .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Changing a br oken recoil spring • Undo the bolt in the centre of the pulley and remo ve the pulley . • Bear in mind that the return spr ing lies tensioned in the star ter housing. • Loosen the bolts holding the spring cassette.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Air guide plate. 3 Fins on the flywheel. 4 Cooling fins on the cylinder .
