HEARING PRO TECTION Wear hearing protection that provides adequate noise reduction. EYE PRO TECTION Alwa ys wear approv ed eye protection.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 BOO TS Wear boots with steel toe-caps and non-slip sole . CLO THING Wear clothes made of a strong f abr ic and a void loose clothing that can catch on twigs and branches. Alwa ys wear heavy , long pants. Do not wear jewellery , shor ts sandals or go barefoot.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 10 – English be check ed. See instructions under the heading Maintenance. Stop switc h Use the stop s witch to switch off the engine. Star t the engine and mak e sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 11 cutter . Cer tain harnesses also have a quic k release fitted to the suppor t hook. Check that the harness straps are correctly positioned. Once the harness and machine have been adjusted, check that the harness quick release works correctly .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 12 – English oper ate the sock et spanner when loosening or tightening the nut. The nylon lining inside the locking n ut must not be so worn that you can turn it by hand. The lining should off er a resistance of at least 1.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 13 K eep the correct setting on the saw blade! F ollow our instructions and use the recommended setting tool. An incorrectly set saw b lade increases the risk of jamming and blade thrust, and damage to the saw b lade.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English T rimmer head • Only use the recommended trimmer heads and trimmer cords. These ha ve been tested by the manuf acturer to suit a par ticular engine size . This is especially impor tant when a fully automatic trimmer head is used.
ASSEMBL Y English – 15 Assembling the handlebar and throttle (BC 2145, CC 2145) • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle. • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram). • Align the screw hole in the throttle handle with the hole in the handlebar .
ASSEMBL Y 16 – English machine is in a comf or tab le working position when it hangs from the harness. T ranspor t position, handlebar • The handlebar can easily be turned to fit along the shaft for easier tr anspor tation and storage . • Loosen the knob .
ASSEMBL Y English – 17 • Centre the metal cup (P) on the drive disc’ s blade guide. • T urn the output shaft until one of the holes in the dr iv e disk aligns with the corresponding hole in the gear housing. • Inser t the loc king pin (C) in the hole to lock the shaft.
ASSEMBL Y 18 – English spanner with a shaft that is long enough to allo w this. The arrow in the diagram sho ws the area where you should operate the sock et spanner when loosening or tightening the nut. Fitting the trimmer guard and trimmer head T rimm y SII • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head.
ASSEMBL Y English – 19 • Screw on the trimmer head/plastic blades (H) in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation. • T o dismantle, follo w the instructions in the rev erse order . ASSEMBL Y 20 – English 2 Tighten the chest strap under your left arm so that it fits closely around your body . 3 Adjust the shoulder strap to distribute the load e venly across your shoulders. Press downwards on the suspension hook to load the harness.
FUEL HANDLING English – 21 Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING 22 – English Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t b y filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 23 Check bef ore star ting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks ha ve f ormed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 24 – English engine to idle, press the throttle loc kout and throttle trigger again. Start throttle: (FC 2145, FC 2145 S, FC 2145 W , BC 2145, CC 2145) Set the throttle to the star t position b y moving the choke control to the choke position and then returning it to its original position.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 25 General working instructions Basic safety rules 1 Look around you: • T o ensure that people, animals or other things cannot affect y our control of the machine.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 26 – English W orking methods • Before y ou star t clearing, check the clearing area, the type of terrain, the slope of the ground, whether there are stones, hollows etc. • Star t at whiche ver end of the area is easiest, and clear an open space from which to work.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 27 • T o fell to the left, the bottom of the tree should be pushed to the right. Tilt the blade and bring it diagonally down to the right, ex er ting firm pressure. At the same time push the stem using the blade guard.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 28 – English Grass clearing using a grass b lade • Grass blades and g rass cutters must not be used on woody stems. • A grass b lade is used for all types of tall or coarse grass.
MAINTENANCE English – 29 Carburettor Y our Jonsered product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful exhaust fumes .
MAINTENANCE 30 – English 2 Press the star t throttle loc k as described under the heading Star ting and stopping. 3 If the star t throttle speed is too lo w (below 4000 rpm), turn the adjuster screw A clockwise until the cutting attachment star ts to rotate .
MAINTENANCE English – 31 Cleaning the air filter Remov e the air filter cover and tak e out the filter . Blow clean with compressed air . An oiled foam plastic filter (a vailab le as an accessor y) must be used if the machine is operated in e xtremely dusty conditions.
MAINTENANCE 32 – English Winter use Running problems can occur when using the machine in the cold and snowy conditions caused by: • T oo low engine temperature.
