HEARING PRO TECTION Wear hearing protection that provides adequate noise reduction. IMPORT ANT! The machine is only designed for trimming grass , grass clearing and/or forestry clearing.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 7 EYE PR O TECTION Alwa ys wear approved e ye protection. If you use a visor then you must also w ear approved protectiv e goggles. Approv ed protective goggles must comply with the ANSI Z87.1 standard in the USA or EN 166 in EU countries.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 8 – English Press the throttle loc kout and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it. Check that the throttle trigger and throttle lock out move freely and that the return spr ings w or k properly .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 Muffler The muffler is designed to keep noise le vels to a minimum and to direct exhaust fumes a way from the user . A muffler fitted with a catalytic conv er ter is also designed to reduce harmful exhaust gases.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 10 – English Cutting equipment This section describes how to choose and maintain your cutting equipment in order to: • Reduce the risk of blade thrust. • Obtain maximum cutting perf or mance. • Extend the life of cutting equipment.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 11 Sharpening grass knif es and grass blades • See the cutting attachment packaging f or correct sharpening instr uctions . Sharpen blades and knif es using a single-cut flat file. • Sharpen all edges equally to maintain the balance of the blade.
ASSEMBL Y 12 – English Fitting the handlebar • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle. • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram). • Align the screw hole in the throttle handle with the hole in the handlebar .
ASSEMBL Y English – 13 Dismantling • Loosen the coupling by turning the knob (at least 3 times). • Push and hold the button (C). While securely holding the engine end, pull the attachment straight out of the coupling.
ASSEMBL Y 14 – English Fitting the blade guar d and saw blade • Remov e the mounting plate (H). Fit the adapter (I) and brack et (J) with the two screws (K) as shown. Fit the blade guard (A) to the adapter using the 4 scre ws (L) as shown. CA UTION! Use the recommended blade guard.
ASSEMBL Y English – 15 • Screw on the trimmer head/plastic blades (H) in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation. • T o dismantle, follo w the instructions in the reverse order . FUEL HANDLING 16 – English Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of y our body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING English – 17 Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 18 – English Check bef ore star ting Chec k the b lade to ensure that no cracks hav e formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole. The most common reason why cr acks are formed is that sharp corners have been f or med at the bottom of the teeth while sharpening or that the blade has been used with dull teeth.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 19 Hold the body of the machine on the ground using your left hand (CA UTION! Not with your foot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with your right hand until you feel some resistance (the starter pawls grip), now quic kly and powerfully pull the cord.

W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 21 The ABC of c learing • Alwa ys use the correct equipment. • Make sure the equipment is well adjusted. • Follo w the safety precautions. • Organise your work carefully . • Alwa ys use full throttle when star ting to cut with the blade.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 22 – English conditions, so that cleared stems f all in the cleared area of the stand. Forestry clearing using a sa w blade • The risk of blade thrust increases with increasing stem size. Y ou should therefore a void cutting with the area of the blade between 12 o'cloc k and 3 o'clock.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 23 Brush cutting with a sa w blade • Thin stems and brush are mown down. Work with a sawing mov ement, swinging side ways. • T r y to cut sev eral stems in a single sawing mov ement. • With groups of hardwood stems, first clear around the group .
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 24 – English • When trimming and clearing, you should use less than full throttle (80%) so that the cord lasts longer and to reduce the wear on the trimmer head. Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting grass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower .
MAINTENANCE English – 25 Carburettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE 26 – English Some mufflers are equipped with a special spark arrestor mesh. If your machine has this type of muffler , you should clean the mesh at least once a week. This is best done with a wire brush. On mufflers without a catalytic conv er ter the mesh should be cleaned weekly , or replaced if necessary .
MAINTENANCE English – 27 Air filter The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remove dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Loss of engine power • Unnecessary wear to engine par ts. • Excessive fuel consumption.
