4 STEP 4 - CONNECT HITCH TUBES 6. F asten the hitch tubes together using two 5/16" x 3" he x bolts and 5/16" nyloc k nuts . Do not tighten yet. See fi gure 2. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 FIGURE 3 STEP 5 - ASSEMBLE HITCH PIN 7. Assemble the hitch pin brac ket , the hitch spring and then the 7/16" fl at w asher onto the hitch pin.
5 STEP 8 - TIGHTEN BOL TS 14. At this time tighten the f our bolts in fi gure 1 that f asten the hitch tubes to the sw eeper housing. Ne xt, tighten the two bolts in fi gure 2 that f asten the ends of the hitch tubes together . Finally , tighten the tw o bolts in fi gure 4 or 5 that f asten the hitch brac kets to the hitch tubes .

7 ASSEMBL Y OF HOPPER B A G STEP 15 - ASSEMBLE UPPER TUBES 1. Ins ert the left han d uppe r hopp er tub e thro ug h the sti tch ed fl aps of the hopper bag, starting at the center cut out in the top of the bag. See fi gures 12, 13 and 14. Repeat f or the right hand upper hopper tube.
8 STEP 19 - ASSEMBLE SUPPORT R ODS IMPORT ANT : Do not o v er bend the suppor t rods during the follo wing step . Ov er bending will decrease the suppor ting tension of the rods.
9 FIGURE 22 STEP 22 - A TT A CH HOPPER B A G 17. T o attach the hopper bag to the sw eeper , slide the ends of the bag ar m tubes into the ends of the hitch tubes and secure with two 1/4" x 1-3/4" cle vis pins and small hair pin cotters. See fi gure 25.

11 KNO W Y OUR SWEEPER CA UTION: Keep s weeper awa y from fire. Excessiv e heat can damage the brushes and hopper bag and could cause the bag and its contents to burn.
12 FIGURE 28 4. Lubricate the wheel bearings each season. Remove the hub cap and apply a f ew drops of light w eight oil. 5. Ev er y two years , remov e the wheels and clean the gears f ound inside the wheel housing. After cleaning, lubricate the gears with an ev en coat of light grease.
13 BRUSH REPLA CEMENT NO TE: Br ush replacement should be done one brush at a time. 1. Remov e the hopper bag from the sweeper . 2. Loosen only the two hex bolts and loc k nuts which clamp one br ush in a brush retainer . Do not loosen or remov e the bolts which f asten the br ush retainers to the br ush shaft.
