GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 12 – English • Use the chain brake as a ”parking brak e” when star ting and when moving ov er shor t distances, to reduce the risk of moving chain accidentally hitting your leg or any one or anything close by . • T o release the chain brake pull the front hand guard backwards , towards the front handle.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 19 Ne ver use waste oil! Using w aste oil can be dangerous to you and damage the machine and en vironment. Filling with chain oil • All our chain saws ha ve an automatic chain lubrication system. On some models the oil flow is also adjustable.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 20 – English Checking wear on cutting equipment Check the chain daily f or : • Visible crac ks in rivets and links. • Whether the chain is stiff. • Whether rivets and links are badly worn. Replace the saw chain if it e xhibits any of the points abov e.
ASSEMBL Y English – 21 Fitting the bar and chain 536 LiXP Check that the chain brak e is in disengaged position by moving the front hand guard tow ards the front handle. Unscrew the bar nut and remo ve the drive sprock et cover . Remov e the transpor tation guard (A).
ASSEMBL Y 22 – English sproc k et and in the groove on the bar . Begin on the top side of the bar . • Make sure that the edges of the cutting links are f acing forw ard on the top edge of the bar. Mount the clutch cov er and remember to fit the chain adjuster pin in the hole in the bar .
B A TTER Y HANDLING English – 23 Battery The display shows the battery capacity and if there are any problems with the battery . The battery capacity is display ed for 5 seconds after the machine is s witched off or the battery indicator button is pressed.
B A TTER Y HANDLING 24 – English T ranspor t and storage • Alwa ys remove the battery for storage or tr anspor t. • Store the battery and the batter y charger in a dr y , moisture-free and frost-free space. • Do not store the battery in places where static electricity can occur.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 25 Starting and stopping • Before inserting the batter y into the machine, alwa ys check to see that the pow er tr igger actuates properly and returnes to the ”OFF” position when released. T o prev ent the power trigger from being accidentally pulled, a power trigger lock out is provided.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 26 – English Stopping The machine is deactiv ated by pressing the star t/stopp button on the k eypad (green LED off). Note! T o avoid in voluntar y start up, the battery must alwa ys be removed when the machine is not in use or is unsupervised.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 27 Bef ore use: 1 Check that the chain brak e works correctly and is not damaged. 2 Check that the rear right hand guard is not damaged. 3 Check that the pow er tr igger lock out works correctly and is not damaged. 4 Check that the k eypad works correctly and is not damaged.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 28 – English lose control. Both situations can cause serious personal injury . 6 Before mo ving your chain saw deactiv ate it and lock the saw chain using the chain brak e. Carr y the chain saw with the bar and chain pointing bac kwards.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 29 the saw chain is jamming, the sa w may be pushed back at y ou. 8 Unless the user resists this pushing force there is a risk that the chain saw will mov e so far backw ards that only the kickbac k zone of the bar is in contact with the tree, which will lead to a kickbac k.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 30 – English The follo wing instructions descr ibe how to handle the commonest situations you are lik ely to encounter when using a chain saw . Cutting If you ha ve a pile of logs, each log you attempt to cut should be remov ed from the pile, placed on a saw horse or runners and cut individually .
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 31 • Wind direction • Arrangement of branches • Weight of sno w • Obstacles within the reach of the tree: for e xample, other trees, pow er lines, roads and buildings.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 32 – English Mak e the f elling cut about 3-5 cm (1.5-2 inches) above the bottom directional cut. Set the spike b umper (if one is fitted) just behind the felling hinge. Use full throttle and advance the chain/bar slo wly into the tree.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 33 Cutting trees and branches that are in tension Prepar ations: W ork out which side is in tension and where the point of maximum tension is (i.e. where it would break if it was bent e ven more). Decide which is the safest w ay to release the tension and whether you are ab le to do it safely .
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 34 – English Limbing Make sure that y ou can stand and move about saf ely . Work on the left side of the trunk. W ork as close as possible to the chain sa w for maximum control. If possible , let the weight of the chain saw rest on the trunk.
MAINTENANCE English – 35 General The user must only carry out the maintenance and service work descr ibed in this Operator's Manual. More extensiv e work must be carried out by an authorized service workshop.
MAINTENANCE 36 – English P ower trigger lock out • Make sure that the pow er tr igger is lock ed at the idle setting when the power trigger lock out is released. • Press the power trigger lock out and make sure it returns to its or iginal position when released.
MAINTENANCE English – 37 Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake (left side of the machine). 2 A fan on the motor . • Clean the cooling system with a brush once a week, more often in demanding conditions.
