GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 8 – English Stop switc h Use the stop switch to s witch off the engine. Star t the engine and mak e sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 Quick release (Balance Fle x harness) There is an easily accessible, quic k release fitted at the front as a safety precaution in case the engine catches fire, or in any other situation that requires y ou to free yourself from the machine and harness.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 10 – English Specification of bar and saw c hain When the cutting attachment supplied with your machine has to be replaced, because it is worn out or damaged, you must only fit the types of bar and sa w chain recommended by us.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 11 - Filing angle - Cutting angle - File position - Round file diameter - File depth It is very difficult to sharpen a chain correctly without the right equipment. W e recommend that you use our file gauge. This will help you obtain the maximum kic kback reduction and cutting performance from your chain.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 13 - Undo the bar nut. - T ension the chain by turning the chain tensioning screw clockwise. Use a combination spanner or tur n by hand. The chain should be tensioned until it fits snugly on the underside of the bar .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English What to do if lubrication does not w ork: • Check that the oil channel in the bar is not obstructed. Clean if necessary . • Check that the oil channel in the gear housing is clean. Clean if necessar y . • Check that the bar tip sproc ket turns freely .
ASSEMBL Y English – 15 Fitting the cutting head • Fit the cutting head on the shaft so that the screw (A) is aligned with the hole in the shaft as shown. • Tighten screw A. • Tighten screw B . CA UTION! Make sure that the drive shaft inside the shaft engages with the cut-out in the cutting head.
ASSEMBL Y 16 – English Filling with oil • Open the cap on top of the bar head • Fill with Husqvarna saw chain oil. • Refit the cap. Assembling and dismantling the two-piece shaft (327P5) Assemb ly: • Loosen the coupling by turning the knob.
ASSEMBL Y English – 17 of 4 Nm. After the machine has been in use for around 20 hours, re-tighten the screws to 4 Nm. Assembly of the sa w attachment (327P5) Assemb ly • Loosen the coupling by turning the knob. • Align the tab of the attachment (A) with the arrow on the coupling (B).
FUEL HANDLING 18 – English Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of y our body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING English – 19 Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 20 – English Check bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use blunt, crack ed or damaged equipment. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 21 Repeat pulling the cord until the engine star ts. When the engine star ts. return choke control to run position and apply full throttle; the throttle will automatically disengage from the star t setting.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 22 – English General working instructions P ersonal protection • Alwa ys wear boots and other equipment described under the heading P ersonal protective equipment. • Alwa ys wear working clothes and heavy-duty long trousers.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 23 • This machine is not electrically insulated. If the machine touches or comes close to high-voltage power lines it could lead to death or serious bodily injury . Saf ety instructions after completing w ork • The transport guard should always be fitted to the cutting attachment when the machine is not in use.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 24 – English • Do not work with the shaft held straight out in front of you (lik e a fishing rod) as this increases the apparent weight of the cutting attachment. • Cut large branches in sections so that you ha ve better control ov er where they fall.
MAINTENANCE English – 25 Carburettor Y our Husqv ar na product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions.
MAINTENANCE 26 – English Low speed jet L T r y to find the highest idle speed by turning the low speed jet L clockwise then anti-cloc kwise. When the highest speed has been found, turn the low speed jet L 1/4 turn anti-clockwise.
MAINTENANCE English – 27 Muffler CA UTION! Some mufflers are fitted with a catalytic conv er ter. See chapter on T echnical data to see whether your machine is fitted with a catalytic con ver ter . The muffler is designed to reduce the noise le vel and to direct the exhaust gases a way from the oper ator.
MAINTENANCE 28 – English • Incorrect carburettor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air filter . These factors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and star ting difficulties.
