Stop switc h Use the stop switch to s witch off the engine. Star t the engine and make sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 In countries that have a w ar m and dr y climate there is a significant risk of fire. W e therefore fit certain mufflers with a spark arrestor screen. Check whether the muffler on your machine is fitted with this kind of screen.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 10 – English Gear The gear housing gets hot when the machine has been in use. T o avoid b ur ning yourself do not touch the gear housing.
ASSEMBL Y English – 11 Fitting the hand guard and loop handle (327HD A65, 327HE3) 1 Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. 2 Fit the nut and screw . Do not ov er tighten. 3 Now make a final adjustment to giv e yourself a comfortable working position.
ASSEMBL Y 12 – English Fitting the impact guard (327HE4) Fit the guard using the three screws and washers . Fit the two short screws in hole A. Tighten the scre ws to a torque of 4 Nm. After the machine has been in use for around 20 hours, re-tighten the screws to 4 Nm.
FUEL HANDLING English – 13 Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING 14 – English Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 15 Check bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use blades that are dull, crack ed or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 16 – English use glov es. Do not use a machine with damaged spar k plug cap. Stopping The engine is switched off b y moving the stop switch to the stop position. CA UTION! The stop switch automatically returns to the star t position.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 17 General working instructions P ersonal protection • Alwa ys wear boots and other equipment described under the heading P ersonal protective equipment. • Alwa ys wear working clothes and heavy-duty long trousers.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 18 – English • Nev er put the machine down with the engine running unless you ha ve it in clear sight. Saf ety instructions after completing w ork • The transport guard should always be fitted to the cutting attachment when the machine is not in use.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 19 • Undo the knob . • Press the cutting unit against the hedge or some other firm surface until the required angle is set. • Tighten the knob . T ranspor t position (327HE4) Once the work has been completed fold the cutting unit back against the shaft to simplify transport and storage of the hedge trimmer.
MAINTENANCE 20 – English Carburetor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE English – 21 cause fire if directed against dry and combustible material. Some mufflers are equipped with a special spark arrestor screen. If your machine has this type of muffler , you should clean the screen at least once a week. This is best done with a wire brush.
MAINTENANCE 22 – English mm). The spar k plug should be replaced after about a month in operation or earlier if necessary . CA UTION! Always use the recommended spark plug type! Use of the wrong spark plug can damage the piston/ cylinder . Check that the spark plug is fitted with a suppressor .
MAINTENANCE English – 23 Cleaning and lubrication Clean any resin and plant residue from the blades using cleaning agent 531 00 75-13 (UL22) before and after using the machine. Lubricate the blade bars with special grease, part no. 531 00 75-12 (UL 21) before long periods of storage .
