English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimise vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Chec king, maintaining and servicing the machine ′ s safety equipment Throttle loc k • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock is released. • Press the throttle lock and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.

English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Grass trimming using a trimmer head and plastic blades T rimming • Hold the trimmer head just above the g round at an angle. It is the end of the cord that does the work. Let the cord work at its own pace. Nev er press the cord into the area to be cut.

English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the J-handle • Clip the loop handle onto the shaft. Note that the loop handle must be fi tted between the arro ws on the shaft. • Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. • Fit the nut, knob and scre w .
14 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the blade guar d/combination guar d, grass blade and grass cutter • Hook the blade guard/combination guard (A) onto the fi tting on the shaft and secure with the bolt. CA UTION! Use the recommended blade guard. See the T echnical data section.
English – 15 FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-strok e engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting F or saf ety reasons follo w these recommendations! • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks hav e formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Air purge: Press the air purge diaphragm repeatedly until fuel begins to fi ll the diaphragm. The diaphragm need not be completely fi lled. Stopping Stop the engine by s witching off the ignition. Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!).
18 – English MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqv arna product has been designed and manuf actured to speci fi cations that reduce har mful emissions.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE will run smoothly in ev er y position. The idle speed should also be well below the speed at which the cutting attachment starts to rotate. IMPOR T ANT! If the idle speed cannot be adjusted so that the cutting attachment stops, contact y our dealer/service workshop .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the star ter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Bevel gear The be vel gear is fi lled with the right quantity of grease at the f actor y . Howe ver , before using the machine y ou should check that the be vel gear is fi lled three-quarters full with grease. Use HUSQV ARNA special grease.
22 – English TECHNICAL D A T A T echnical data NO TE! Noise pressure at the user ’ s ear and vibr ation on the handles are measured with all the machine ’ s approved cutting equipment fi tted. The table indicates the highest and lowest v alues.
