8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to reduce vibration and mak e operation easier . The machine ′ s vibration damping system reduces the transf er of vibration between the engine unit/cutting equipment and the machine ′ s handle unit.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the hand guar d and loop handle (325HD A55,323HE3,325HE3) 1 Assemble the hand guard and loop handle b y screwing them together . T ak e care to align the holes in both par ts. 2 Slide the loop handle and hand guard onto the shaft.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
12 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by fi lling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
English – 13 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remov e any objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Nev er use blades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order .
14 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you f eel some resistance (the star ter pawls g rip), now quickly and powerfully pull the cord.

18 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed with the idle adjustment screw T , if adjustment is necessar y . First turn the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the b lades star t to move . Then tur n the idle adjustment screw T anticlockwise until the blades stop .
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Some muf fl ers are equipped with a special spark arrestor mesh. If your machine has this type of muf fl er , you should clean the mesh at least once a week. This is best done with a wire brush. On muf fl ers without a catalytic con verter the mesh should be cleaned weekly , or replaced if necessar y .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Cleaning the air fi lter Remov e the air fi lter cover and tak e out the fi lter . Wash it clean in warm, soapy w ater . Ensure that the fi lter is dr y before re fi tting it. An air fi lter that has been in use f or a long time cannot be cleaned completely .
