4 – English The machine's safety equipment This section describes the machine's safety equipment, its function and how checks and maintenance are carried out to ensure that it operates correctly . (See the chapter "What is what" to locate where this equipment is positioned.
English – 5 5. Silencer The silencer is designed to give the lowest possible noise level and to direct the engine's exhaust fumes away from the operator . 4. Vibration damp- ing system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system, which is designed to give as vibration-fr ee and comfortable use as possible.

Throttle trigger lock • Check that the throttle is locked in the "idling position" when the throttle trigger lock is in its original position. • P ress in the throttle trigger lock and make sure it r eturns to its original position when released.

English – 9 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS I t is very difficult to sharpen a chain correctly without the right equipment. W e recom- mend you to use a file gauge. This will help you obtain the maximum kickback reduction and cutting performance from your chain.

Checking • Check the chain lubrication each time the petrol is replenished. Aim the tip of the saw at a light coloured surface about 20 cm away .
English – 11 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS W ARNING! Defective cutting equipment can increase the risk for accidents. Check regularly the degr ee of wear on the drive wheel. Change if it is irregularly worn. The chain drive wheel should be changed each time the chain is changed.

English – 17 FUEL HANDLING Fuel mix Mixing • Always mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Always start by filling half the amount of petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. M ix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the r emaining amount of petrol.
18 – English FUEL HANDLING – ST ART AND ST OP Start and stop • Clean around the fuel cap. Contamination in the tank can disrupt opera- tions. • Ensure that the fuel is well mixed by shaking the container before filling the tank. Cold engine IGNITION: Set the stop switch in start position.
English – 19 ST ART AND ST OP Fitting the harness • P ut on the harness with engine unit. • P ress together the hip belt ’ s snap lock. • T ension the hip belt so that it rests on the hips. • T ension both shoulder belts so that the harness presses to the back.
20 – English MAINTENANCE W ARNING! Contact your servicing dealer , if the idle speed setting cannot be adjusted. Do not use the pruner until it has been properly adjusted or repaired. ! Fine adjustment • When the tr ee pruner is ” run in ” the carburettor should be fine adjusted.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Air filter The air filters must be regularly cleaned from dust and dirt in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • S tarting problems • Engine power r eduction .
22 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o maintain as low an operating temperature as possible the engine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consits of: 1. English – 23 MAINTENANCE Monthly maintenance 1. Clean the fuel tank using petrol. 2. Clean the carburettor and the space surrounding it. 3. Clean the fan and the space around it. 4. Check the fuel filter and the fuel pipe, replace if necessary. 5. Check all cables and connections.
