3 Safety Rules • Operate generator ONL Y outdoors. • K eep at least 2 feet of clearance on all sides of generator for adequate ventilation. • DO NO T operate generator inside any building or enclosur e, including the generator compartment of a recreational v ehicle (R V).
4 • DO NO T touch hot surfaces. • Allow equipment to cool befor e touching. Running engines produce heat. T emperature of muffler and nearby ar eas can reach or exceed 150°F (65°C). Sev er e burns can occur on contact. W ARNING • DO NO T tamper with gov erned speed.
5 12 V olt DC ,10 Amp Receptacle — Recharge a discharged 12 V olt automotive type battery through this r eceptacle. 120 V olt A C, 20 Amp GFCI Duplex Receptacles — Ma y be used to supply electrical power f or the operation of 120 V olt A C , 20 Amp, single phase , 60 Hz electrical, lighting, appliance, tool and motor loads.
6 ASSEMBL Y Y our generator requires some assembl y and is ready f or use after it has been properl y serviced with the recommended oil and fuel. If you ha ve an y problems with the assembl y of y our generator , please call the generator helpline at 1–877–224–0458.
7 2. Slide axle through both axle mounting brack ets on cradle frame, as shown in Figure 1. 3. Slide a wheel ov er the axle. NO TE: Be sure to install both wheels with the air pressur e valve on the outboard side. 4. Place the e-ring onto the groo v e in the axle.
8 GR OUNDING THE GENERA T OR The National Electrical Code requir es that the frame and external electrically conductiv e parts of this generator be properl y connected to an appr oved earth ground. Local electrical codes ma y also require pr oper grounding of the unit.
9 4. Start engine according to instructions given in engine owner’ s manual. NO TE: If engine starts after 3 pulls but fails to run, or if unit shuts down during operation, make sur e unit is on a lev el surface and check for pr oper oil level in crankcase.
10 6. Connect batter y charge cable clamp with b lack handle to the negative (–) battery terminal (Figure 5). 7. Start engine . Let engine run while batter y recharges. 8. When batter y has charged, shut down engine NO TE: Use an automotive h ydrometer to test battery state of charge and condition.
11 RECEPT A CLES 120/240 V olt A C , 30 Amp , Locking Receptacle Use a NEMA L14–30 plug with this receptacle. Connect a 4–wire cor d set rated for 250 V olt A C loads at 30 Amps (or greater) (Figur e 7). Y ou can use the same 4–wire cord if y ou plan to run a 120 V olt load.
12 Gr ound Fault Pr otection This unit is equipped with a Ground Fault Cir cuit Interrupter (GFCI). This device meets applicable federal, state and local codes. The GFCI protects against electrical shock that ma y be caused if your body becomes a path which electricity tra vels to reach the gr ound.
13 DON'T O VERLO AD GENERA T OR Capacity Y ou must make sur e your generator can supply enough rated (running) and surge (starting) watts for the items you will pow er at the same time. Follow these simple steps: 1. Select the items you will po wer at the same time.

15 ST ORA GE The generator should be started at least once every seven da ys and allowed to run at least 30 minutes. If this cannot be done and you m ust store the unit f or more than 30 da ys, use the following guidelines to prepar e it for storage.
