8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Hand guar d The hand guard pre vents hands from coming into contact with the moving b lades, f or example, if the oper ator loses grip on the front handle. Check that the hand guard is fitted correctly . Check that the hand guard is undamaged.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha v e spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allo w remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha v e spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.

English – 15 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce harmful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
16 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Fins on the flywheel. 2 Cooling fins on the cylinder . 3 Cylinder cov er (directs cold air ov er the cylinder).
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Gear housing There is a grease nipple on the gearbo x. Use a grease gun to top up with grease. This should be carried out after appro ximately ev er y 60 working hours. Use Husqvarna special grease, No . 503 98 96-01. CA UTION! The gear housing must not be filled completely with grease.
