When the chain is blunt you hav e to ex er t more pressure to force the bar through the wood and the chips will be very small.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English General advice on adjusting depth gauge setting • When you sharpen the cutting tooth (A) the depth gauge setting (C) will decrease. T o maintain optimal cutting performance the depth gauge (B) has to be filed down to achie ve the recommended depth gauge setting.

ASSEMBL Y English – 17 Fitting the bar and chain Check that the chain brak e is in disengaged position by moving the front hand guard tow ards the front handle. Unscrew the bar nut and remo ve the clutch cov er (chain brake). T ak e off the transpor tation guard.
FUEL HANDLING 18 – English Fuel Note! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys be run using a mixture of gasoline and two-stroke oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.

WORKING TECHNIQUES English – 29 Ho w to a void kic kback What is kickbac k? The word kickbac k is used to describe the sudden reaction that causes the chain saw and bar to jump off an object when the upper quadrant of the tip of the bar , known as the kickbac k zone, touches an object.
MAINTENANCE 30 – English Carburetor Y our Husqv ar na product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE English – 31 High speed jet H • The high speed jet H affects the po wer and speed of the machine. If the high speed jet is set too lean (screwed in too f ar) it will cause the machine to over- rev and damage the engine . T ur n the high speed jet H anticlockwise until it stops.
MAINTENANCE 32 – English Throttle loc kout • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock out is released. • Press the throttle lock out and make sure it returns to its original position when you release it.
MAINTENANCE English – 33 Muffler Nev er use a machine that has a faulty muffler . Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. Some mufflers are equipped with a special spark arrestor screen. If your machine has this type of muffler , you should clean the screen at least once a week.
MAINTENANCE 34 – English T ensioning the recoil spring • Hook the star ter cord in the notch in the pulley and turn the star ter pulley about 2 turns clockwise. Note! Check that the pulle y can be tur ned an additional 1/2 turn when the star ter cord is pulled all the wa y out.
MAINTENANCE English – 35 Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburetor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air filter . These factors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and star ting difficulties.
