1 1 Safety Precautions Thank you for purchasing the EchoLife HG520c Home Gateway (hereinafter referred to as the HG520c). For safety purposes, carefully read through these safety precautions and observ e them during operation. Basic Requirements z Keep the device dry during storage, tran sportation, and operation of the device.
2 z Use the accessories such as the power adaptor provided or author ized only by the manufacturer. z Make sure that the device doe s not get wet . If water gets into the d evice, disconnect the power supply immediately and unplug al l the cab les connected to the device.
3 Wireless Product Usage Requirements z Keep the device awa y from magnetic storag e devices (e.g ., a magnetic c ard or a floppy disk), to prevent loss of the stored information.

7 2.4 Getting Started To power on the HG520c, press the power button on the side panel of th e HG520c. After you power on the HG520c, the ADSL indicator b links (for less than three minutes), which indicates that th e HG520c is being activated. Later, the ADSL indicator turns solid on .
8 4. Select Yes from the Active drop- down combo box and select Routing from the Mode drop-down combo box. 5. Select PPPoE from the Encapsulation drop-down combo box. 6. Enter the user name and password that are prov ided by the network operator in the Username and Password text boxes, and keep the default settings of other parameters.
9 9. Select Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop , and then click Finish . An icon for the dial-up connection is disp layed on the desktop of your computer. You need to perform the preceding opera tions only once for cre ating a network connection.
10 4. Select WPA-PSK from the Authentication Type drop-down co mbo box. 5. Select TKIP from the Encryption drop-down co mbo box. 6. Enter an access password in the Pre-Shared Ke y text box. 7. RESET You can press and hold the RESET button for over six seconds to restore the default settings of the HG520c.
