1 Product Features This color monitor is digitally controlled by the microprocessor -based computer . It provides an easy to use on-screen display menu technology that allo ws you to adjust the monitor to your specif ic vie wing needs. The 17-inch/43-centimeter CR T monitor features include: ■ 16” (41 cm) vie wable area display .

Safe ty and Maintenance Guidelines ■ Install your monitor near an outlet that you can easily reach. Disconnect the monitor by grasping the plug f irmly and pulling it from the outlet. Ne ver disconnect the monitor by pulling the cord. ■ T urn your monitor off when not in use.
■ Do not place the monitor face do wn. Damage could result to the front panel controls or the monitor screen. 2–4 User G uid e.
3 Set tin g U p t h e Monitor At tac hin g t he Monitor B a se 1. Carefully position the monitor bottom side up. 2. Align the hooks on the base with the sockets on the bottom of the monitor and attach the base. 3. Push the base to ward the front of the monitor until it stops.
Setting Up the Monito r Remo ving t h e Monitor B as e In the e vent that you need to disassemble the base from the monitor , position the monitor bottom side up and follo w these instructions: 1. If you must remove the base attachment, release the catch and slide the base to ward the back of the monitor .
Setting Up the Monitor 4. Po wer on the computer and monitor . ✎ If the monitor fails to function properly , refer to Appendix A, “T roubleshooting. ” 5. If necessary , adjust the front panel monitor controls according to your personal preference.

Setting Up the Monitor 3. Attach the green connector from the control speaker to the green port on the back of the computer . 4. Attach the speaker po wer adapter cable to the connector on the back of the control speaker , and then plug the A C adapter into an electrical outlet.
Setting Up the Monito r Shor t Speak ers 1. Place the speaker set near the monitor so that the speak er with the controls is on the right side when you vie w the monitor from the front. 2. Attach the speaker po wer adapter cable to the black connector on the back of the c ontrol speaker , then connect the A C adapter into an electrical wall outlet.
Setting Up the Monitor USB Spea k er s 1. Place the speaker set near the monitor so that the speak er with the controls is on the right side when you vie w the monitor from the front. 2. Plug the USB cable 1 on the control speaker into a USB port on the computer .
Setting Up the Monito r P lu gging H ea dp hon es into t h e Com p uter T o use headphones, if your spea ker does not ha ve a headphone port, plug them into the connector on the back of the computer labeled Out, Line Out or Speaker . Y ou may need to disconnect the speakers to connect the headphones.
4 O peratin g t he Monitor Soft w are and U tilities Select monitor models will include a CD that contains two f iles you can install on your computer: ■ an .INF (Information) f ile ■ an .ICM (Image Color Matching) f ile Adobe Acrobat Reader is supp lied on this CD and can be installed from the menu.
Oper ating the Monitor work through separate BNC type connectors or through distrib ution buf fers/boxes. Y ou may need to install the .INF f ile if these conditions are not met. The Ima ge C ol or Ma tc hin g File The .ICM f ile provides accurate color representation.
Oper ating the Monitor 6. Ensure that the proper resolution and refresh rates appear in the W indo ws Display control panel. ✎ Y ou may need to install the digitally signed monitor .INF and .ICM f iles manually from the CD in the e vent of an installation error .

Oper ating the Monitor On - Sc reen Disp l a y The On-Screen Display (OSD) adjusts the screen image based on your vie wing preferences. T o access the OSD, do the following: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the power b utton to turn on the monitor .

Oper ating the Monitor Ou t of Frequen cy Ra n ge M ess ag e If an Out of Frequency Range message displays on the monitor screen, the video resolution and/or refresh rate are set higher than the le vels the monitor supports. T o change the video resolution or refresh rate on the monitor: 1.
Oper ating the Monitor Using t h e Energy Sav er Mod e The monitor is designed to meet requirements for reduced po wer consumption. Using a combinati on of hardware and software functions, this ener gy-saving feature allo ws the computer to control the monitor’ s po wer consumption and reduce the monitor’ s po wer state when not in use.
