1 Product Features HP LP1965, LP2065, and LP2465 Models The flat panel monitors have an active matrix, thin-f ilm transistor (TFT), liquid crystal display (LCD).

2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is included with the monitor. If an other cord is used, u se only a power sour ce and connection appr opriate for this mon itor.
Maintenance Guidelines To enhance th e performance and extend the life of the monitor: ● Do not open th e monitor cabinet or attempt to se rvice this product yourself.
3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the mon itor, computer system, and other attached devices, then foll ow the instructions below. NOTE: Be sure the master power switch, located on the re ar pan el of the monitor, is in the off position.

Selecting the Signal Connectors and Cables The monitor features two DVI-I connecto rs capable of supporting eithe r analog or digital input. The video mode su pported by the DVI-I connecto r is determined b y the video ca ble used. ● For digital operation, use the DVI-D signal cabl e provided.
Connecting the Monitor 1. Place the monito r in a convenie nt, well-v entilated locatio n near the computer. 2. Connect one end of th e USB hub cable to the USB connector on the rear panel of the computer , and the ot her end to the up stream USB conn ector on the monitor.
4. Place the cables th rough the cable ma nagement channel o n the back of the mo nitor base. Figure 3-7 Using the Cable Managem ent Feature Adjusting the Monitor 1. Tilt the monitor's panel forward or backwar d to set it to a comfortable eye level.
2. Swivel the monitor to the left or righ t for the b est viewing angle. Figure 3-9 Swiveling the Monitor 3. Adjust the monitor's height so that it is parallel to your eye height for a comfortable viewing position.
4. Pivot the monitor from landscape to portrait orie ntation viewing to adap t to your application. Figure 3-11 Pivoting the Monitor NOTE: The 20" model (shown above) pivots counter-clockw ise; the 19" and 24" models pivot clockwise.
Connecting USB Devices The monitor provide s four USB connectors, two on th e side panel a nd two on th e rear panel, used to connect devices such a s a digital cam era, USB keyboard, or USB mouse. NOTE: You must connect the USB hub cable from the mon itor to the computer to enable th e USB 2.
Using the Accessory Rails The monitor features accessory rails on the rea r th at may be used to mo unt optional devices, su ch as the HP speake r bar, to attach to the LCD. R efer to the do cumentation includ ed with the optio nal device for detailed mounti ng instructions.
3. Pull up on the monitor displ ay head (2) to remove it from the base. Figure 3-14 Removing the Monitor fr om the Pedestal Base Mounting the Monitor The HP Quick Release can be remove d from the pedest al base and installed to a mounting fixture. It allows you to quickly and securely attach the mon itor panel to the mounting fixture.
3. Mount the Quick Release to a swing arm or other mountin g fixture using the four screws removed from the Quick Rel ease in the prev ious step. Figure 3-16 Installing the Quick Release CAUTION: T he Quick Release ca n also be installed d irectly to a wall to mount th e monitor panel.
Locating the Rating Labels The rating labels on th e monitor provide the spare part number, pro duct number, and serial numb er. You may need these nu mbers when contacting HP about the mon itor model. The ra ting labels are located on the re ar panel of the monitor d isplay head.
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that comes with the monitor contain s files you can install on the computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you dete rmine that you need to update, you can install the .INF and .ICM file s from the CD or download them. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM file s on the co mputer from the CD: 1. Insert the CD in the com puter CD-ROM drive.
Using the Auto-Adjustment Function You can optimize the screen performa nce for the VGA (analog) input by usi ng the -/Auto button on the monitor and the auto-adjus tment pattern software ut ility on the CD provided. Do not use this procedur e if the monitor is using a DVI input.

Adjusting the Monitor Settings The monitor settings can be adjusted fro m the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu or from the HP Displa y Assistant utility. Using the On-Screen Display Menu Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) t o adjust the screen ima ge based on you r viewing p references.

Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Management Selects the power manag ement features of the monitor. Power Saver Enables the power saving feature. Select: ● On ● Off The factory default is On. Power On Recall Restores power to the monitor following an unexpected removal of power.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description OSD Control Adjusts the position of the OSD menu on the screen. Horizontal Position Changes the viewing position of the OSD menu to the left or right area of the screen. The factory default range is 50. Vertical Position Chan ges the viewing position of the OSD menu to the top or bottom area of the screen.
Optimizing Digital Conversion This monitor contains advanced circuitry that allo ws th e flat panel screen to function like a standa rd monitor. Two controls in the on-screen display can be adjusted to impro ve image performance: Cloc k and Clock Phase.
Identifying Monitor Conditions Special messages will appear on th e monitor screen wh en identifying the follow ing monitor conditions: ● Input Sign al Out of Ra nge—Change re solution s etting to.
NOTE: You must set the current local time before you reset the time for Sleep Time or On Time . Note that the time is displaye d in a 24–hour cl ock form at. For example, 1:15 p.m. is disp layed as 13 hours 15 minutes. 5. Press the Menu button once to enter the adjustment mode for hours.
Select This Option To Do This Display On Sets the time when the monitor automatically turns on. This does not a ffect screen saver operation, which has priority over the HP Display L iteSaver. Activity Extension Sets the time in minutes before the monitor turns off if there is any keyboard or mouse activity after the Display Off time is r eached.
1. Click the Display icon in the Control Panel. 2. In the Display Proper ties windows, select the Settings tab, then click the Advanced button. 3. Select the Color Management tab, then click the Add button to open the Add Profile Association dialo g box.
