1 Product Features The LCD (liquid crystal display) monitors have an ac tive matrix, thin-film tran sistor (TFT) pan el. The monitors featur e: HP L5006tm Touchscreen ● Maximum resolution of XG A 1024 x 768.

2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is included with the monitor. If anot her cord is used, use only a power source and connection appr opriate for this moni tor. For information on th e correct power cord set to use with th e monitor, r efer to the Power Cord Se t Requirements on page 29 in Appen dix C.
Maintenance Guidelines To enhance th e performance an d extend the life of the monito r: ● Do not open th e monitor cabinet or attempt to se rvice this product yourself.
3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the mon itor, computer system, and other attached devices, then foll ow the instructions below. Connecting the Cables NOTE: For the L5009tm model, it is bes t to install the APR driver before connecting the hardwa re. 1. Place the monito r in a convenie nt, well-v entilated locatio n near the computer.
Installing the Serial or USB Touch Drivers The Touch driver software can be downlo aded from th e Web or from the HP software and documentation CD included with the monitor. Downloading Drivers from the Web 1. Insert the HP software and documentati on CD in the co mputer’s CD-ROM d rive.
Removing the Monitor Stand If you are mou nting the panel to a wall or other mo unting fixture, you must remove the monitor stand from the panel. The mo nitor has four mounting holes on the back side of the panel that adheres to the VESA mounting standard.
Tilting the Monitor For viewing clarity, tilt th e moni tor forward (u p to -5 degrees) or backward (up to 90 degrees). Figure 3 -3 Tilting the Monitor CAUTION: In order to protect the monitor, be sure to hold the base when a djusting the LCD, and take care not to touch th e screen.
4 Operating the Monitor Installing the Monitor Driver The CD that comes with the monitor contai ns monito r driver files you can in stall on your computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .ICM (Image Color Match ing) file PDF Complete is supplie d on this CD and can be i nstalled from the menu.
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you determi ne that you nee d to update, you can install the .INF and .ICM files from the CD or download the m. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM files on the computer from the CD: 1. Insert the CD i n the computer CD-ROM d rive.

Using the On-Screen Display Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to display and se lect OSD menu fu nctions. To access the OSD, do the following: 1. Press the Menu button on the side panel to activate th e OSD menu. 2. Use the up arrow or down ar row controls to move clockwise or countercloc kwise through th e menu.
Icon OSD Control Description OSD Language Selects the language in which the OSD menu is displayed. Information Description Indicates the curr ent resolution, H-Frequency and V-Fr equency.
OSD and Power Lock/Unlock The OSD feat ure can be locked a nd unlocked. The mo nitor is shipped with th e OSD menu and power button in th e unlocked p osition. To lock the OSD menu: 1. Press the Menu b utton and up arrow button s imult aneously until a window displa ys "OSD Unlock.
A Troubleshooting Solving Common Problems The following tab le lists possible problems, the poss ible cause of each problem, and the recommended solutions. Problem Possible Cause Solution Screen is blank. Power cord is disconnected. Connect the power cord.
Touchscreen Tips If you experience operational issues with the touchscreen system either during or after installation, use the tips below to help you deter mine the source of th e problem. ● If “No Elo touchmonitor found” i s displayed on the screen, install the latest drivers.
If the touchscreen is no t responding to tou ch, check y our serial or USB connection by doing the following: ● Serial Connection - Run the comd ump diagnostic utility to determin e if the touchscreen, the serial touch controller, the computer's serial COM port and the associated cablin g are connec ted and functioning properly.
6. Exit regedit when done. 7. Shut Down and r estart the machine. A re start is required before the setting will take effect. A cursor is not visible. To make the cursor visible, first, open Control Panel > Elo Touchscr een > Mode tab. Ch eck if the Hide arro w mouse pointer box is checked; if yes, un-check it and click OK.

Recognizing Preset Display Resolutions The display resolutions listed below are the most co mmonly use d modes and are set as factory defaults. This monitor automatically recognized these preset modes and they will ap pear properly sized and centered on the screen.
Energy Saver Feature When the monitor is in its normal operating mode, the monitor uses less than 21 watts and the Power light is gr een. The monitor also supports a reduced power state. The reduced power st ate will be entered into if the monitor detects the ab sence of eith er the horizo ntal sync signal and/o r the vertical sync signal.
