✎ Setting Up the Monitor Connec ting the P ow er , USB or S er ial and V G A Cables Connect either the USB or serial cable to the monitor , but not both. 5. T urn on the computer , then press the power b utton on the side panel to turn the monitor po wer on.
✎ Setting Up the Monitor ✎ Depending on whether you connected the USB cable or serial cable, you should install only the USB dri ver or serial dri ver . 6. Refer to the online help file with the software for instructions on conf iguring and adjusting the touchscreen.

Setting Up the Monitor 3. Position the monitor on the desk or tabletop. 4. Lift the bezel cover from the base of the stand. 5. Install the screws into the holes provided and replace the bezel cov er .
Setting Up the Monitor Locatin g t he Ratin g Labels The rating labels on the monitor provide the spare part number , product number , and serial number . Y ou may need these numbers when contacting HP about your monitor model. The rating labels are located on the rear panel of the monitor display head.
4 Opera tin g t he Monitor Installin g th e Monitor Driv er The CD that comes with the monitor contains monitor dri ver f iles you can install on your computer: ■ an .INF (Information) file ■ an .ICM (Image Color Matching) file Adobe Reader is supplied on this CD and can be installed from the menu.
✎ Operating the Monito r Th e I m a ge C o l o r M a tc hi n g F il e The .ICM files are data f iles that are used in conjunction with graphics programs to provide consistent color matching from monitor screen to printer , or from scanner to monitor screen.

D Na tiv e Re solu tion The nati v e resolution of a monitor is the resolution le vel at which the LCD panel is designed to perform best. The nati ve resolution is 1024 x 768 for the 15 inch size. In almost all cases, screen images look best when vie wed at their nati ve resolution.
Native Resolution As an example, a SV GA resolution LCD panel has 800 pixels horizontally by 600 pix e ls vertically . Input video is also represented by the same terms. XGA input video has a format of 1024 pixels horizontally b y 768 pixels vertically .
