3 Preface About This Guide This guide i s intended for any one who uses the HP L2151w/L2151w s LCD Monitor. It descri bes the monitor’s features, se tup, and operation.
4 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Import ant Safety Information The power ad apter and cord are desi gned for use w ith your HP mon itor . The adapter pro vided by HP is only for this monitor. To use a different cord, use a pow er source and connection co mpatible wi th this adapter.
5 Maintenance Guidelines To enhance the performance and ext end th e life of your mon itor: y Do not open your moni tor cabinet or attempt to service this product y ourself. If your monitor is not ope rating properly or has been dropped or damaged, co ntact y our HP authori zed dealer , reseller , or service pro vider .
6 Setup Base and Tilt Att aching the Base 1 Set the panel face down on a flat , protec ted surf ace , such a s a table t op. 2 Using both hands , align the ba se with the p edestal and pu sh in firmly to lock in place. Make sure that the base is securely locked in place befo re continuing w ith the setup procedure .
7 Removing the Base 1 Set the panel face-down on a flat, protected surface. 2 Squeeze the t abs in the bottom of the base to relea se the lock. 3 Remove the base from the pedestal. CAUTION: To prevent damage, avoid applying pressure to the panel front.
8 Cables Att aching the Cables 1 T urn off y our computer . 2 If you are a ttaching a VGA cable, conne ct one end of the 15-pin D-Sub VGA cable (blue connector) to the back of the monito r and con nect the other end to the c omputer VGA port.
9 4 Connect the power cord and ada pter first, and then connect one end of the power adapter to the back of the monitor and p lug the other end in to a grounded ou tlet. 5 T urn on y our monitor and computer . If your moni tor displays an image , installation is compl ete.
10 Using the Monitor Operating Instructions Control butto ns are located on the front of the pan el, as shown in the follow ing illustration. Use the Menu button ( B ) to adjust the display settings to y our personal preferences: y Set up th e monitor , at tach the cabl es, and adjust the tilt as described in the Setu p sect ion abov e.

12 Settings Setting the Optimal Resolution The recommende d resolution for this monitor is 1920 x 1080.To config ure the monitor to this resolution, complete the set up proce dure and mak e sure that the mon itor is c onnected to the computer.
13 Adjusting On-Screen Display Setting s Use the OSD menu to adjust the scre en image and change setting s. To access the OSD menu: 1 If the monitor is not already on, press the Power button to turn the monitor on. 2 Press the Menu button to acti vate the OSD menu.
