PRODUCT SPECIFICAT IONS A BOUT T HIS PRODUCT - Bodine’s PACESET TER TM “ NEMA 4” ser ies inverter is des igned to provide variable speed c ontrol of s tandard three- phase AC induction m otors . Adjustable linear acceler ation and deceleration are pr ovided, m aking the drive suitable for soft start applications.
IMPORTANT SA FETY PRECA UTIONS Model 2995 has been ev aluated by Underw riters Laboratories for conformance to UL standards 508 and 50 and CSA standard C22.2 No. 14 and bears the UL Recognized Component mark. The AC Dr ive is a power electronic dev ice.
INSTA LLA TION This contr ol should only be installed by a qualified pers on fam iliar with its operation and assoc iated hazards. The National Electrical Code (NEC), loc al electrical and s afety codes, and when applicable, the O ccupational Saf ety and Health Act (OSHA) should be observed to reduc e hazards to personnel and property.
Step 2. Choose a Suitable Location The installation site directly impacts the functionality and lifespan of the control. Avoid areas w here surrounding air temperature exceeds 40 O C (direct sunlight or near heating equipment or inside a panel without a cooling fan.
CONNECTION CA UTION The PCB inside the inverter enclosure is vulnerable to static electr ical charges. Avoid contact with the PCB. Choose an appr opriate power source with correct voltage sett ings f or the specif ication of the AC inverter .
In this mode, the motor will produce full rated torque up to 60 Hz. Above 60 H z, torque will linearly reduce to 50% at 120 Hz. Figure 6 - Graph showing reduction in motor torque at frequencies above 60 Hz.
Step 5 – Connect th e Motor A cord should be used for the motor connection in order to properly seal the liquid tight fitting. The fitting w ill accept cord diameters betw een 0.17” and 0.47” diameter. The length of the cord should be kept short for minimum voltage drop and only copper wire w ith 60 O C rated insulation should be used.

OPERA TION Step 9 – Check Sy stem Before Starting WA RNING Recheck all connections. Do not open the cover of the inverter when the power is ON to avoid injury caused by electrical shock . Do no t attempt to w ire circuitry wh ile p owe r is on.
Step 10 – Operate the Inv erter The PACESETT ER TM “NEM A 4” series inverter is operated using the switches and speed dial on the front panel of the control. See Figure 10 for panel layout. 1) T urn the AC power ON using the toggle switch. T he power lamp w ill illuminate.
MIN : Min i mu m S pe ed The MI N trim pot is used to set the minimum output frequency of the drive, which sets the minimum motor speed. The minimum speed is factory set to 10 Hz. R eadjust the trim pot as follows: 1. Rotate main speed potentiometer to the minimum speed position (full counterclockwise).
DEC/B: Deceleration (w ith 60 Hz or 120 Hz conf iguration) The DE C/B trim pot sets the time it w ill take the motor to reach zero speed from an initial full speed setting. The trim pot is factory set to approx imately 1.5 seconds. Adjust the trim pot as required for the application.
CL: Current Limit with I 2 t Shutdown The CL trim pot is used to set the max imum motor current that occurs in a stalled condition. T he C L trim pot is factory set to approx imately 160% of full control rating (3.8 amps). The CL trim pot can be readjusted as required.
TROUBLESHOOTING WA RNING Do not remove the cover of the inverter when the power is ON to avoid injury caused by electrical shock . This control does not require maintenance under normal conditions. If you encounter a problem, read all instructions provided w ith this control and double- check the wiring.
Figure 13 – Location of LED Status Indicators inside t he enclosure LED STATUS INDICATORS – Models 2995 contains two LE D status indicators on the printed circuit board inside the enclosure. One LED is a green Pow er On indicator (PW R) that indicates the presence of the bus voltage and the operation of the main control logic power supply .
