If you a re pre gnant , t he be st w a y t o prot e ct your self a nd your unbor n child w hen dr iving or riding in a vehi cl e is to al ways we ar a seat bel t, and keep the lap part of the belt as low a s possible a cr oss t he hips.
Carryin g hard o r sharp object s on your lap, or dr iving w it h a pipe or other sharp object in your mout h, ca n res ult in injur ies if your f ront a irba g inf lat es.

T he dri ver’s advan ced f ront airb ag system includes a sea t position sensor under t he se at . If the se at is too f ar f orward , the airb ag wil l inf lat e w ith less f orce, regardless of the severit y of the impact. Y our f r ont a irba gs a re also a dv ance d airb ags .
W hen t he a ir bag is t urned of f , an indi cat or in the center of t he dashboa rd w ill come on indic at ing passenge r a irba g ‘‘OF F ’’ ( se e page ). Moving the f ront se at f orcibly bac k ag ain st carg o on the seat or f loor behind it .
T o get t he best prot ect ion f rom the si de airb ags, f ront se at oc cup ants shoul d wear their sea t belt s and sit upright a nd we ll bac k in t he ir se at s . Only one a irba g will deploy dur ing a side impac t . If t he impa ct is on t he passenge r’s s ide, t he pa ssenger ’s side airbag wil l depl oy even if there is no passe nger.
If t he side a ir bag of f indica t or come s on (se e page ), hav e t he passenge r sit upr ight . Once t he passenge r is out of t he air bag’ s deployme nt pat h , t he sy st em w ill tu rn th e ai r b ag b ac k o n , an d th e indicat or w ill go out .

Improper ly r eplac ing or covering f ront sea t -back covers can pr ev ent your side a irba gs f rom inf la t ing during a side impac t . If w at e r or anot h er liquid so aks in to a seat-b ack, i t can prevent t he side airb ag cutof f syst em f rom w ork ing prope rly .
− − − Child ren depen d on adults to prot ect them. However, despite t heir best int ent ions, ma ny a dult s do not k now how to prote ct child passengers. If you have child ren, or ever need t o driv e w it h a child in your v ehicle, be sure t o r ea d t his se ct ion.
− If t he v ehic le sea t is t oo f a rf o r w a r d ,o rt h ec h i l d ’ sh e a di s t hrow n f orw ar d during a collis ion, an in f latin g f ront airbag can s trike the child w it h enough f orce t o kill or ver y seriously injure a small child.
− T o remind you of t he pa ssenger ’s f r ont air ba g haz ar ds, and t hat chi ld ren mu st be pro perl y restrained in a bac k seat, you r vehi cl e has w a r n i n gl a b e l so nt h ed a s h b o a r d (U .S. models) and on t he f r ont v isor s.
− Many parents say t hey pref er t o put an inf ant or a sma ll child in t he f r ont passenge r se at so t he y ca n w at ch t he child, or bec ause t he child requir es at t e nt ion.
− If they do, they could be v er y se riously injur ed in a crash. Even very young chi ld ren learn ho w t o unl oc k ve hicle door s, t ur n on t he ignit ion swit ch, and ope n t he t r unk, w hich can lead t o accidental injury or deat h.
W hen pr operly inst a lled, a r ea r- f acing child seat may prev ent the driv er or a f ront pa ssenge r f r om mo vin g th eir s eat as f ar back as recomm ended , or f rom locki ng their seat-b ack in the de si red po si tio n.
A child who is at least 1 year ol d, a nd who f it s w it hin t he c hild sea t ma ker ’s weight and height limits , should be restrained i n a f orward-f acin g, upright child se at . Of t he di f f erent seats availab le , we rec ommend t hose t hat ha v e a f ive- poi nt harness system as shown.
In sea t ing posit ions a nd v ehic les not equipped w it h L A T CH , a L A T CH - compat ible child se at can be inst a lled using a sea t belt . What ever ty pe of seat you cho ose, to prov ide pr oper pr ot ec t ion, a c hild seat should meet t hree requir ement s: L ook f or F MV SS 213 or CMV SS 213 on t he box.
A child seat secured w it h a sea t belt should be inst alled a s f ir mly a s possi ble. Ho wever, it does no t need t o be ‘‘roc k solid.’’ Some side -t o-s ide moveme nt ca n be ex pect e d and should not re duce t he c hild sea t ’s ef f ect iveness.
Y our ve hicle is equipped w it h L A T CH ( low er anchor s a nd t et her s f or ch i ld ren) at the ou ter rear seats. T o inst a ll a L A T CH- compa t ible c hild seat : Place t he child sea t on t he v ehicle se at, th en attac h th e se at to the lo wer ancho rs accord in g to t he child sea t mak er’s inst ruct ions.

When not using t he L A T CH syst em, all child seats must be secured t o t he ve hicle wit h the la p par t of a lap/ shoulder be lt . Wi th the c h i l d se at in th e de s i re d sea t ing posit ion, rout e t he be lt t hrough t he child se at a cc ording to t he seat maker’s instruct ions, th en i ns er t the l atc h p late i nto th e buckle.
A f t er conf irming tha t t he belt is locke d, gra b t he s houlder par t of the belt near t he buckle, and pu ll up to rem ove any sl ack f rom the lap pa rt of t he belt . R eme mber , if th e l ap p art o f the b el t is n o t ti g h t, t he child sea t w ill not be se cur e.

Y ou should have no p ro bl em with carb on monoxide ent e ring t he v ehicle in norma l driv ing if you maint ain your ve hicle prope rly . High lev els of ca rb on monoxide ca n collect ra pidly in enc losed a re as , su ch as a garage.

If you turn t he steering wheel t o the f ull lef t or right posit ion re pea t edly while st opping or driv ing a t ve ry low speed, yo u may f eel slightly harder steering due to overheating of the steering gear box. Cont inuously driv ing under t hose condit ion could da ma ge t he pow er steering system.

If your f uel cap is loose or missing, a ‘‘CHECK F UEL CA P’’ message app ears in th e inf ormati on d is pl ay af t er you st a rt t he engine. T ur n t he engine of f a nd conf ir m t he f ue l cap is inst a lled. If it is, loosen t he c ap, t he n ret ight en it until it clicks at lea st once.

Push the lev er unde r t he st eer ing column all t he wa y down. Move the st eering wheel up o r d o w na n di no r o u t t ot h ed e s i r e d position. Make sure you ca n see t he inst r ument pane l gauge s a nd th e i nd ic ato rs. P us h the le ve r u p to l o ck th e st ee ring w heel in t hat pos it ion.
Y o us h o u l dh a v er e c e i v e da k e y number t ag wit h your set of key s. Y ou w ill need t his ke y number if y ou ever hav e to get a key replaced. Use only Honda -a pprov ed ke y blank s. T hese keys conta in electronic ci rcui ts that are activated by the immobilizer syst em.
If the syst em repeat edly do es not rec ognize t he coding of your ke y, contact your dealer. Do n ot attem p t to alte r thi s sys te m o r ad d o the r d ev i ce s to i t. El ectr i ca l problems could result t hat ma y make your v ehicle undr iva ble.

Each door has a lock t a b next t o t he inside door handle . Pull the t a b out t o lock t h e door, and pus h it in t o unlock t he door . T he lock t a b on ea ch door locks and unlocks t hat door . Pulling out on t h e driv er ’s door loc k t a b locks a ll doors.
T he childpr oof door lock s ar e designed t o pr ev ent childr en se at e d in the r ea r f rom a ccide nt ally ope ning t he rea r door s. Eac h rea r door has a lock lev er nea r t he edge. W it h t he lev er in t he L OCK posit ion, t he door cannot be opened f r om t he inside rega r dless of t he posit ion of t he lock t ab.
