Introduction 5 Reset Button This button has two (2) functions: • Reboot . When pressed and released, the Wireless Router will reboot (restart). • C lear All Data . This but ton can also be used to clear ALL data and restore ALL settings t o the factory default val ues.
6 Chapter 2 Installation This Chapter covers the physical installat ion of the Wireless Router . Requirements • Network cables. Use standard 10/100BaseT ne twork (UTP) cables with RJ45 connect ors. • The TCP/ IP protocol m ust be i nstalled on all PCs.
Installation 7 For best Wireless reception and performance, the Wireless Router should be positio ned in a central location w ith minimum obstructions betw een the Wireless Router and the PCs. Also, if using multiple Access Points, adjacent Access Points should use different Ch annels to avoid interference.

Your Browser must support Ja vaScript . The configurat ion program has been t ested on the fol lowing browsers: • Netscape V4.

I t allows Internet use rs to connect to your Virt ual Serv ers using a URL, rather tha n an IP Address. This also solves t he problem of having a dy namic IP address.

Advanced Features 61 Upgrade Firmware The firmwa re (software) in the Wireless Router can be upgrade d using your Web Browser. You must first download the upgrade file , then select Upgrade on the Administration menu. You will see a screen like the following.

Wireless Router User Guide 66 Config File This feature allows you to down load the current setti ngs from t he Wireless Router, and save them to a file on your PC. You can restore a previously -downloaded configuration file to the Wireless Router, by uploading it to the Wirel ess Router.
Advanced Configuration 67 Logs The Logs record vari ous types of ac tivity on the Wireless Router. T his data is useful for troubleshooting, but e nabling al l logs will generate a large a mount of data and adve rsely affect performa nce.

If enabled, the E-m ail address information must be provided. E-mail Logs You can choose to have the logs E-mail ed to you, by enabling either or both checkboxes.
Advanced Configuration 69 Options This screen al lows advanced users to enter or c hange a num ber of sett ings. For norm al operation, there is no need to use this sc reen or change any sett ings.
