3 Introduction The Harman Clarity 929BV V ented Gas Heater is a listed gas-red vented room heater tested by Intertek T esting/W arnock Hersey to ANSI standard Z21.
4 In addition to these clearances, adequate accessibil- ity clearance for servicing and proper operation must be maintained. Do not in any way obstruct the combustion air inlets that are located under the heater .
5 VENTING Use Only Appr oved V enting The Clarity gas heater is tested and listed for connection to a 4" (100 mm) listed Class B venting system. If the uni t is i ns tal le d to vent thr oug h an appro ve d maso nr y chimney or a factory-built chimney system, an approved Class B chimney liner must be used.
6 The front is released when levers on the left and right sides are pushed to the rear ASSEMBL Y The Clarity is shipped from the factory with the log set packed inside the rebox.
7 Install the Back Log and Back Brick Panel These two components are installed as a single piece. Rest the back brick panel on the shelf located on the back side of the back log, and center it.

10 MONITORING THE GAS FLAME Periodically , the ames of the Clarity B-V ent Gas Heater should be checked while it is operation. The ames should be relatively well-dened and stable. They should be bright yellow with a blue base where attached to the burner ports.
1 1 •If the knob does not pop up when released, stop and immediately call your service technician or gas supplier . •If the pilot will not stay lit after several tries, turn the gas control knob to "OFF" and call your service technician or gas supplier .
12 Maintenance A qualied service person recommended by your Harman dealer should conduct an annual inspection and maintenance of your Clarity , its venting, and the installa - tion to keep it running safely and efciently . These pro - cedures should be performed only by a qualied service person.
13 The Clarity B-V ent gas heater , when installed, must be electri - cal ly gro un ded i n a cco rd anc e with local co des o r , in th e absen ce of local codes, with the current edition of the National Electri - cal Code, ANSI/NFP A 70 in the United States or the curr ent Canadian Electrical Code CSA 22.
