2-1 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 Connecting the Hardware Now that you have been introdu ced to NPort Server Lite's features and specifications, it’s time to set up the hard ware.
2-2 Wall or Cabine t The two metal brack ets included with NPort Server Lite can be used to attach the server to a w all, or the inside of a cabin et. Using three screws per bracket, first attach the brackets to the bottom of the s erver (Fig. 2-1a). Nex t, use tw o screws per bracket to attach th e server to a w all or cabinet (Fig.

2-5 The next step is to attach NPor t Server Lite to the Din Rail. STEP 1: Insert the top of the DIN Rail into slot A of the DIN Rail mount . STEP 2: Pu sh th e bottom of NPort Server Lite so that the bottom of the DIN Rail snaps into slot B of the DIN Rail mount.
2-6 Power Connec tion Take the following steps to connect NP ort Server Lite’s power adaptor. 1. Connect the power adaptor’s DC plug into NPort Server Lite’ s “DC-IN” jack. 2. Connect the power adaptor to an electrical ou tlet. Note that there is no on/off switch.
3-1 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 Using the Built-In LCD Panel to Configure NPort Server Lite In this chapter, w e explain how to use th e four buttons on NPort Server Lite’s top panel to operate the LCD displa y. Basic Operation If the server is working properly, the LCD panel will d isplay a yellow color for a few seconds, after which it turns green.

4-2 To prevent this problem, be sure to set a pa ssword while installing NPor t Server Lite in Single Hos t mode. If a password is set, then only someone who knows the password will be able to reinstall the NPor t Server Lite driver (either f rom the original or a differen t host).
4-3 Why does NPort Ser ver Lit e Manager indicate an “Una uthorized” s tatus for some of the NPort Server Lite device server’s ports? This means t hat NPort Server Lite’s Access Control list do es not associate your host’s IP addr ess with those ports.
