- 1 4 - G 1 028Z / G 1 0 29 Z Dust Collec t or A ssemb ly T o as semble y our machine: 1 . Position the base plate upside down and mount the casters to the base plate using (16) 5 ⁄ 16 "-18 x 1 ⁄ 2 " flange bolts, as shown in Figure 5. Figure 5.
G 1 028Z /G 1 0 29 Z Dust Collec t or - 1 5 - 5. Secure the front lower support bracket to the collector with (2) 5 ⁄ 16 "-18 x 1 ⁄ 2 " flange bolts. 6. Place the upper support bracket over the lower support bracket, and secure with (2) 5 ⁄ 16 "-18 x 1 ⁄ 2 " flange bolts, as shown in Figure 9.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both set-ups. The advantage of the mobile system is eliminating the cost of many ducts and fittings.

When sele cting your metal d uct, cho ose high quality metal duc t with smooth welded int ernal seams that will minimiz e air flow resistance.

Dec ide W ho Wil l Des ign For most small-to-medium sized shops, you can design and build the dust collection system your - self without hiring engineers or consultants. We have included some basic information here to get you started on a basic design.

This resistance can be minimized by using rigid (smooth) pipe and gradual cur v es, as opposed to flexible pipe and 90 ˚ elbows .

-2 4- G 1 028Z /G 1 029Z Dust Collector Be sure that you extend the bare copper wire down all branches of the system. Do not forget to connect the wires to each other with wire nuts when two branches meet at a “Y” or “T” connec - tion. Ensure that the entire system is grounded.
