-22- G0592 Metal Cut ting Bandsaw Cu t ti ng An gle The G0592 has a locking turret that can be adjust- ed to 6 0° clock wise to 45° counterclock wise. T o cha nge the angle : 1. Raise the bow to the highest position and lock in place. 2. Flip the stop out as shown in Figure 19 .

Selecting the right blade for the job de pends on a v ariety of fa ctors, such as the t ype of material being cut, hardness of the mate rial, material shape machine capabilit y , and o perat or technique.
-2 4- G 0592 Metal Cutting Bandsaw The table shown in Figure 2 2 i s a s ampling of speed rates for various materials . Use these as a guideline. The speed at which the saw blade will cut through a workpiec e is controlled by blade type , feed ra te, and feed pressure .
G0592 Metal Cutt ing Band saw -25- Bl ade Gui des The rear blade guide should be as close to the workpiece as possible. This will help ensure straight cuts by keeping the blade from twist ing and drif ting of f the cut line. T o ad just t he rear blad e guide : 1.

Tips for horizontal cutting: • Use the work stop to quickly and accurately cut multiple pieces of stock to the same length.

Open the fill cap and fill the gearbox with oil until you see the oil level reach the halfway point in the sight glass (see Figure 39 ).
