5 Install Leveling Legs W ARNING Excessive Weight Hazard Use two or more people to move and install dryer. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. 1. T o avoid damaging the oor , use a large at piece of cardboar d from the dryer carton.
6 Electrical Connection Power Supply Cord W ARNING Fire Hazar d Use a new UL listed 30 amp power supply cord. Use a UL listed strain relief. Disconnect power before making electrical connections. Connect neutral wire (white or center wir e) to center terminal (silver).
7 3. Install strain relief. Style 1: Power supply cord strain r elief Remove the screws fr om a 3/4" (19 mm) UL listed strain relief ■ (UL marking on strain relief).
8 3. Connect neutral ground wir e (E) and the neutral wire (C) (white or center wire) of power supply cor d under center , silver -color ed terminal block screw (B). Tighten scr ew . B C E 4. Connect ground wire (F) (gr een or bare) of power supply cor d to external ground conductor screw (A).
9 4. Tighten strain relief scr ews. 5. Insert tab of terminal block cover into slot of dryer rear panel. Secure cover with hold-down scr ew . 6. Y ou have completed your electrical connection.
10 3-wire connection: Dir ect wire Use where local codes permit connecting cabinet-gr ound conductor to neutral wire. Direct wir e cable must have 5 ft. (1.52 m) of extra length so dryer can be moved if needed. Strip 3½" (89 mm) of outer covering from end of cable.
11 4. Connect the other wires to outer terminal block scr ews. Tighten screws. 5. Tighten strain relief scr ews. 6. Insert tab of terminal block cover into slot of dryer rear panel.
12 Clamps: Use clamps to seal all joints. ■ Exhaust vent must not be connected or secured with scr ews ■ or other fastening devices that extend into interior of vent and catch lint. Do not use duct tape. Clamp Exhaust: Recommended hood styles. Acceptable hood style.
13 Level Dryer Check the levelness of the dryer . Check levelness rst side to side, then front to back. If the dryer is not level, prop up the dryer using a wood block. Use a wrench to adjust the legs up or down and check again for levelness. NOTE: It might be necessary to level the dryer again after it is moved into its nal position.
14 11. When the dryer has been running for 5 minutes, open the dryer door and feel for heat. If you feel heat, cancel cycle and close the door . If you do not feel heat, turn off dryer , and check the following: There may be 2 household fuses or cir cuit breakers for ■ the dryer .
15 6. Be certain to keep car dboard spacer center ed between doors. Reattach outer door panel to inner door panel so handle is on the side where hinges wer e just removed. 7. Attach door hinges to dryer door so that the lar ger hole is at the bottom of the hinge.
