eKEY User Manual 2 Product overview The eKEY software allows your PDA to act as an electronic key that gives you access to Supra KeyBoxes placed at listings. An eKEY shell attachment for th e PDA is provided if you access AEII KeyBoxes. The shell is not needed for areas where iBoxes are used exclusively .
Chapter 1 G etting st art ed 3 Operating systems The Supra software applications are compatible with both the Palm and W indow s Mobile 5.0 operating systems. The software functions similarly on both operating systems wi th minor differences in the screen appearance ( Figur e 1 ).

eKEY User Manual 8 Windows Mobile OS If you are using a PDA with the W indows Mobile operating system, follow these instructions to install the ActiveSync and eKEY software, authorize and register your eKEY, and perform a manual eSYNC to update your eKEY.

eKEY User Manual 12 Market area If you have eKEY Professional service, your PDA can download listings during an eSYNC. T o determine which listings are downloaded, set up your ma rket area at the KIM website . T o set up your market area, do the following: 1.

If you want to save a ca lculation, select File | Save and enter a name for the calculation. T o open a calculation that you previously saved, select File | Open , then select the name of the calculation.

eKEY User Manual 20 eSYNC Y our eKEY software is designed to automatically update during the night so it’ s ready to access key boxes the next morning. In a process called eSYNC , your PDA connects to the Supra network, exchanges information, and upda tes your software.
Chapter 2 Updating 21 Connection methods There are three ways to connect to the Supra network to perform an eSYNC: PC-Internet. The PDA connects to the netw ork through a computer with an open Internet connection. Wir eless. The PDA co nnects to the network through a wireless Internet connection.
eKEY User Manual 22 Connection settings The eSYNC connection type is dete rmined when you set up your eKEY software (see eKEY setup on page 4 for more information). Y ou can change your eSYNC connection type at any time. T o change the eSYNC conne c tion type, do the following: 1.
Chapter 2 Updating 23 P C-Internet connection settings Y ou can edit the PC-Internet eSYNC connec tion properties in the Connection screen ( Figur e 9 ). Disable Automatic eSYNC. If you prefer to eSYNC manually , check this box to turn off the automatic eSYNC that occurs each night.
eKEY User Manual 24 Wireless connection settings Y ou can edit the W ireless eSYNC connection properties in the Connection screen. If you prefer to eSYNC manually , check the Disable Automatic eSYNC box to turn off the automa tic eSY NC that occurs each night ( Figur e 10 ).
Chapter 2 Updating 25 Supra Dial-up connection settings Y ou can edit the Supra modem dialing properties in the Connection screen. Disable Automatic eSYNC. If you prefer to eSYNC manually , check this box to turn off the automatic eSYNC that occurs each night ( Figur e 1 1 ).
eKEY User Manual 26 Dial prefix. The dialing prefix is di aled before the eSYN C phone number . Check the Dial pr efix box to enable a dialing pref ix, then enter th e number . For example, yo u may need to dial a 9 to access an outside phone line. Disable call waiting.
Chapter 2 Updating 27 Automatic eSYNC The eKEY software turns on your PDA at a predetermined time between midnight and 6 a.m. to connect to the Supra netwo rk and perform an automatic eSYNC. Y o ur eKEY software is updated and you receive showing alerts.
eKEY User Manual 28 Manual eSYNC Y ou can perform a manual eSYNC at any time to update yo ur eKEY software and download listing/roster information. T o perform a manual eSYNC, do the following: 1. Open the eSYNC application. 2. Select UPDA TE KEY to update your software so you can access KeyBoxes.
Chapter 2 Updating 29 The screen displays the status of the eSYNC operation ( Figur e 13 ). Do not disconnect your PDA from the cradle/cable until the eSYNC has completed.
eKEY User Manual 30 Manual update If you are unable to perform an eSYNC, you can ob tain an update code from the KIM website or automated voice system and manually enter it into your PDA. Showing activity in your PDA is not uploaded to the Supra network until you perform an eSYNC.
Chapter 2 Updating 31 T o enter the update code into your PDA, do the following: 1. Select the eKEY icon to open the application. 2. Select EMERGENCY UPDA T E from the eKEY menu. 3. Enter the update code into your PDA ( Figur e 14 ). 4. Select OK. If you have an eKEY shell, press Enter on the shell.

eKEY User Manual 34 Accessing KeyBo xes The eKEY application lets you access both the AE II KeyBox and the iBox ( Figur e 15 ). Fig u r e 1 5. Su pra K e yB oxe s AEII KeyBox. T o communicate with the AEII KeyBox, your PDA must have the Palm operating system and needs to be inside an eKEY shell.
Chapter 3 KeyB oxe s 35 If you access both types of KeyBoxes, the PDA does not need to be inside the shell to access iB oxes. If your area uses iBoxes exclusively , an eKEY shell is not required. Releasing the key container T o access the listing ke ys inside a KeyBox, do the following: Note: Your eKEY must be updat ed to acc ess KeyBoxes.
eKEY User Manual 36 4. Insert the eKEY shell into an AEII KeyBox or point your PDA at an iBox. Several screens display as the eKEY application communicates with the KeyBox and releases the key container . The AEII KeyBox container will drop after a few seconds.
Chapter 3 KeyB oxe s 37 Agent feedback A feedback alert displays on your PDA after the key container opens if the Agent Feedback option is turned o n in your eKEY software, or if the listin g agent has activated the Req. Feedback setting in an iBox. This option allows you to provide feedback about the showing to the listing agent.
eKEY User Manual 38 Releasing the shackle Each KeyBox has a four-digit shackle code that releases the shackle for installation or removal at a listing. T o release the shackle on a KeyBox: 1. Open the eKEY application. 2. Select RELEASE SHACKLE from the eKEY menu.
Chapter 3 KeyB oxe s 39 CBS codes Every KeyBox contains a Ca ll Before Showing (CBS) code that you can activate usin g the Manage KeyBoxes menu option of the eKEY application.
eKEY User Manual 40 Managing KeyBo xes The Manage KeyBoxes menu option in the eKEY application displays the KeyBoxes in your inventory an d allows you add KeyBoxes or change the settings. Adding KeyBoxes KeyBoxes are automatically ad ded to your inventor y when you release their shackles.

eKEY User Manual 42 Changing KeyBox settings Follow these steps to change the settings of a KeyBox in your inventory . Note: iBoxes contain several f ie lds in addition t o the standard settings in the AEII KeyBox. 1. Open the eKEY application. 2. Select MANAGE KEYBOXES from the eKEY menu.
Chapter 3 KeyB oxe s 43 Access hours KeyBoxes can be programmed to allow 24-hour access or timed access for specific hours. T o determine the timed access hours preprogrammed into your KeyBox, con tact your association or MLS. Access hours are set at standard time.
eKEY User Manual 44 Cooperating systems Y our PDA may be able to access KeyBoxes in a neighboring association/MLS. Check with your association/MLS to determine if your area has a cooperating agreement.
Chapter 4 Showing activity This chapter explains how to view KeyBox showing activity using ShowingV alue on the KIM website, or by reading a KeyBox, calling KIM voice access, or using the eDA T A application. In this chapter: V iewing showing activi ty .

T o save your personal e-mail signature for e-mails you send through ShowingV alue, enter your signature information in the Personalized Email Signatur e field and click Save Now .
eKEY User Manual 50 E-mailing showing agents Y ou can e-mail announc ements or updates directly to agents who’ve shown your listings. Follo w these steps to send an e-mail to showing agents. Note: Only the agents who ’ve opted to receive listing updat e e-mails in the ShowingValue Settings screen will receive your e-mail.
Chapter 4 Showing acti vity 51 V iewing eFeedback eFeedback is informa tion about a listing, including the buyer ’ s interest level, how the buyer learned about the listing, and whether the price is within the buyer ’ s range. eFeedback sent by showing agents about your listings is displayed in the second row of your Dashboar d .

T o perform an MLS ID search, select MLS ID SEARCH from the Listings Selection menu. In the MLS Sear ch screen ( Figur e 30 ), enter the listing’ s MLS ID number , then select Search .
eKEY User Manual 62 When you view listings, the Results screen ( Figur e 31 ) displays up to the first ten (Palm OS) or twelve (W indows Mobile OS) listings that meet your search criteri a. HotSheet listings appear in bold type. Use the scroll bar to scroll through the listings.

When you perform your first manual eSYNC using the UPDA TE KEY & MLS option, the entire roster is downloaded to yo ur PDA. Changes to roster data are downloaded with each subsequent eSYNC.
Chapter 5 MLS dat a 67 Messages The Messages option in the eDA T A application displays messages delivered to your PDA during eSYNC from yo ur association/ MLS, your broker , or GE Security . An important point after buying a device GE eKEY (or even before the purchase) is to read its user manual. We should do this for several simple reasons:
If you have not bought GE eKEY yet, this is a good time to familiarize yourself with the basic data on the product. First of all view first pages of the manual, you can find above. You should find there the most important technical data GE eKEY - thus you can check whether the hardware meets your expectations. When delving into next pages of the user manual, GE eKEY you will learn all the available features of the product, as well as information on its operation. The information that you get GE eKEY will certainly help you make a decision on the purchase.
If you already are a holder of GE eKEY, but have not read the manual yet, you should do it for the reasons described above. You will learn then if you properly used the available features, and whether you have not made any mistakes, which can shorten the lifetime GE eKEY.
However, one of the most important roles played by the user manual is to help in solving problems with GE eKEY. Almost always you will find there Troubleshooting, which are the most frequently occurring failures and malfunctions of the device GE eKEY along with tips on how to solve them. Even if you fail to solve the problem, the manual will show you a further procedure – contact to the customer service center or the nearest service center
