Use high heat settings on the cooktop onl y when necessary . T o avoid bubbling and splatt ering, heat oil slowl y on no more than a low-medium setting.
Flammable materials Do not stor e or use gasoline or other flammable vapors, liquids or mat erials in the vicinity of this or any o ther appliance. If the cooktop is near a windo w , for ced air vent or fan, be certain that flammable materials such as window co verings do not blo w ov er or near the elements.

12 Main switch with memory function The heating and timer settings remain st ored for 5 seconds after the cooktop has been switched off. If you switch the cookt op of f accidentally and would lik e to restor e the previous settings: 1 Within 5 seconds, touch the l symbol.
Tips on saving energy Use good quality saucepans and pots with thick, ev en bases. Select the correct saucepan size f or each cooking zone. The diameter of the bases of the saucepans and pots should match the size of the cooking zone. Note: Ov enw are manufacturers often giv e the diameter of the t op of the saucepan.
14 Combination of the dual size cooking zone The cooktop must be switched on b y the main switch. 1 Select the cooking zone. T o do this, slide the magnetic knob in the direction of the corresponding cooking zone symbol. 0 comes on in the cooking zone display .

16 With the timer you can progr am an automatic switch-off time between 1 and 90 minutes in 1- minute-steps for a cooking zone (aut omatic switch-off). Y ou can set a time value for e very cooking zone. ! WARNING! The timer SHOULD NEVER be used as a safe ty for leaving y our cooktop unattended during use, especially at high settings.
17 Changing a time value Select the cooking zone. T ouch the q symbol. Use the twist knob to change the duration. Erasing a time value Select the cooking zone. T ouch the q symbol. Set the duration to 00 . The displa y goes out after a fe w seconds. The cooking zone continues heating at the selected le vel.
18 All cooking zones featur e a quick boil timer . When the quick boil timer is activat ed, the set cooking lev el is boosted f or sever al minutes. This ensures that the continued cooking temperatur e of the food is reached fast er . The appliance switches automatically t o the set cooking lev el af ter the quick boil time has elapsed.
19 Child lock Y ou can prev ent the cooktop from being switched on unintentionally , i.e. children cannot switch on the cooking zones. Note T o activate the child lock y ou hav e to mak e the child lock function av ailable in the options menu first (see options menu).
