Place a pan of food on the unit before turning it on, and turn the unit off before removing the pan. • Use proper pan size —This appliance is equipped with one or more surface units of different sizes.
6 BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Oven vent location The oven vent is located under the left rear surface element (See Fig. 1). When the oven is on, warm air passes through the vent. This venting is necessary for proper air circulation in the oven and good baking results.

8 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Operating surface elements To operate surface elements: 1 . Place correctly sized cooking utensil on surface element. 2 . Push in and turn the surface control knob (See Fig. 1). in either direction to the desired setting. Start most surface cooking on a higher setting and then turn to a lower setting to finish.
