3 -EN Initial System Star t-Up Be sure to press the RESET s witch when using the unit for the first time, after installing the CD changer , etc., or after changing the car batter y . 1 Make sure that the po wer of the unit is off . If the power is on, press the PO WER button to turn off the unit.
4 -EN Basic Operation Displa ying the Title/T ext It is possib le to display the CD title if the title has been pre viously inputted. For details, see “ Titling Disc ” (page 5). T e xt information, such as the disc name and the track name, will be displa yed if playing a CD te xt compatible disc.
5 -EN Titling Discs It is possible to title y our f av orite CD's. 1 Press the DISP button of the Remote Displa y or the Remote Control and select the title displa y mode. For details , see “ Displa ying the Title/T e xt ” (page 4). 2 Press and hold the TITLE button on the Remote Control f or at least 2 seconds.
6 -EN Scroll Setting If connected with a CD charger , this unit can scroll the disc and trac k names recorded on CD-TEXT discs, as well as the te xt inf ormation of MP3 files, folder names , and ID3 tags. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button of the Remote Displa y or the Remote Control for at least 2 seconds .
7 -EN Demonstration This unit has a Demonstration feature which sim ulates the displa y functions. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button of the Remote Displa y or the Remote Control for at least 2 seconds .
8 -EN Contr olling CD Changer An optional CD Changer ma y be connected to the CRA- 1667RF if it is Ai-NET compatib le. With a CD Changer connected to the Ai-NET input of the CRA-1667RF , the CD Changer will be controllable from the CRA-1667RF .
9 -EN M.I.X. (Random Play) 1 Press the M.I.X. bu tto n on the Remote Control i n th e pla y or pause mode. The tracks on the disc will be pla yed back in a r andom sequence. After all the tracks on a disc ha ve finished pla ying back, the trac ks of the ne xt disc will be pla yed back.
10 -EN MP3 Changer Operation (Optional) Playing MP3 Files If you connect a changer applicab le to MP3, you can pla y CD-ROMs, CD-Rs , and CD-R Ws containing MP3 files on this unit. 1 Press the SOURCE button of the Remote Displa y or the Remote Control to s witch to the MP3 Changer mode.
11 -EN Repeat Play 1 Press the REPEA T button of the Remote Control to pla y back repeatedly the file being pla y ed. The file will be play ed repeatedly . The RPT ALL mode is selected, the unit repeatedly pla ys back all files on the disc selected. Press the REPEA T button of the Remote Control and select OFF to deactiv ate the repeat play .
12 -EN XM Radio Operation (Optional) Receiving XM Channels with the XM Receiver XM Satellite Radio * is the ne xt generation of audio enter tainment, with up to 100 brand-new digital channels. For a small monthly f ee, subscribers can hear cr ystal-clear music , spor ts, news and talk, coast-to- coast via satellite.
13 -EN Storing XM Channel Presets 1 Press the B AND button on the Remote Control to select the desired band (XM1 or XM2) you w ant to store. 2 After tuning in the desired channel, press and hold the r otary encoder of the Remote Display f or at least 2 seconds until the channel name on the displa y b links.
14 -EN Remote Contr ol Battery Replacement Applicable battery: Use two “ AAA ” sized dry batteries or equivalent. 1 Opening the battery cover Slide out the battery cover while firmly pressing the direction of arrow . 2 Replacing the battery Put the batteries in the case obser ving the polarities as illustrated.
15 -EN CD Changer not functioning. • Out of operating temperature range +50˚C (+120˚F) for CD. - Allow the vehicle's interior (or trunk) temperature to cool. CD pla yback sound is wa vering. • Moisture condensation in the CD Module. - Allow enough time for the condensation to evaporate (about 1 hour).

19 -EN Installation Installing the Remote Displa y Unit CA UTION: Do not install the remote displa y unit near the air-bag of the front passenger's seat. • Check the installing location. • Deter mine the installing location on the dashboard (in the center , and flat position).
20 -EN T o prevent e xternal noise from entering the audio system. • Locate the unit and route the leads at least 10 cm away from the car harness. • Keep the battery power leads as far away from other leads as possible. • Connect the ground lead securely to a bare metal spot (remove any paint, dirt or grease if necessary) of the car chassis.
