1 Temperature Calibrator Introduction Your Fluke 724 Temperature Calibrator is a handheld, battery-operated instrum ent that measures and sources a variety of therm ocouples and RTD s. See Table 1. In addition to the functions in Table 1, the c alibrator has the following features and functions : • A split-sc reen display .

If the c alibrator is damaged or something is miss ing, contact the plac e of purchase immediately . To order replacement parts or spares, s ee the user-replaceable parts list in Table 7.

Temperature Calibrator Storing and Recalling Setups 31 Auto Ramping the Output Auto ramping gives you the ability to c ontinuously apply a varying s timulus from the calibrator to a transm itter, while your hands rem ain free to test the respons e of the transmitter.
724 Users M anual 32 Calibrating a Transmitter Use the meas urement (upper display ) and sourc e (lower display) m odes to calibrate a trans mitter. The following example s hows how to c alibrate a temperature transmitter. Connect the calibrator to the ins trument under test as shown in Figure 15.

Connect the test leads to the instrument under tes t as shown in Figure 16. 2. Press l for dc voltage, or U for resis tance (lower display).
