- - 6 1. INTRODUCTION The EDN800 vandal dome network camera provides H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG compression for multi-strea ming capabilities. H.264 is the most advan ced video compression technology that saves your bandwidth without sacrificing video quality .
3. OPERA TIO N WINDO W Step 1. Start a bro wse r . Ste p 2. Enter the IP a ddress or host name of the camera in the Location /Add re ss field of your browser . Step 3. Input “Username” and “Password”. Default Username is “user1” and d e f a u l t p as s w o r d i s “ 11111111 ” .

EDN800 9 The Snapshot button saves a snapshot of the video image currently being displayed. The location where th e snapshot data is saved can be sp ecified in S etting -> User ’ s Config. Please refer to “3.2 User Config” for further i nformation.
EDN800 10 3. Setting Click this button to display the setup menu. 3.1 System Info System information and system log check of the setup menu can be performed on this page. The “System Info” page has 2 tabs of the [Infor mation] tab and the [Log] tab.
EDN800 11 3.1.1 Information System Information: Firmware version, MAC address, V ideo T y pe, Model number . (unchangeable, for reference only) 3.1.2 Log.
EDN800 12 System Log : Date/Time : displaying date and tim e of the log. Log message : all information and event message, including login, user ’ s IP , reboot, firmware upgrade, load factory default, configuration reset and event detected. System will keep the newest 256 records.
EDN800 13 Te x t S e t t i n g Check the box for text of Machine name , Date/Time or Frame Ra te to be displayed on the screen. Te x t C o l o r Foreground Color: Select the foreground color of text to be displayed by moving the slide bar betw een Red , Green and Blue until your desire color is obtained.
EDN800 14 T ime Format: 24 Hours or 12 Hours. Press Apply to apply the setting changes or Reset to reset without saving the change. Recording/Snapshot Exp ort Setting Enable Event Record ing to PC: Allo w event video recorded to users' PC if any events have been se t to record to PC.
EDN800 15 3.3 Network The network settings and the settings relating to Network, DDNS, Bandwidth, SMTP/FTP and Network A larm can be configured on this page. The "Network setup" page has 5 tabs of the [N etwork] tab, the [DDNS] tab, the [SMTP/FTP] tab and the [Network alar m] tab.
EDN800 16 DHCP: Configure the DHCP server not to assign the same IP addresses used for the other network cameras and PCs w hose IP address is unique. Refer to the network ad ministrator for the settings of the server. Defa ult: DHCP. Static IP: User can manually set th e static IP for network connection.

EDN800 19 Bandwidth Setting Max. Bandwidth: Specify , Unlimited / 64 K/ 12 8 K/ 256 K / 512 K / 1M / 2M / 4M / 8M bps. the maxi mum bandwidth that the camer a is allowed to use on th e network. This is a useful function when connecting the ca mera to busy or heavily loaded networks.
EDN800 20 Set SMTP The settings relat ing to the mail server used to send the e- mail notification fro m the camera to predefined add resses via SMTP can be configured. SMTP Server: Enter the IP address or the host na me of the S MTP server used to send e-mails .
EDN800 21 Send T est Mail: Press button to send a testing mail to the assigned address. Set FTP The settings relating to the FTP server used to tran smit the alar m images ca n be configured. FTP Server: Enter the IP address or the host na me of the FTP server.
EDN800 22 3.3.5 Network Alarm (reserved for PowerCon) Set Network A larm This function is reserved for PowerCon software, for th e detail setting please refer to PowerCon network alarm protocol.
EDN800 23 3.4 V ideo The settings relating video such as streaming, camera OSD can be configured on this page. The "Video" page has 2 tabs of the [Multi-streaming] tab and the [Camera] tab. 3.4.1 Multi S tr eaming St ream Setting The system can output 4 video stream s simultaneously .
EDN800 24 Quality: there are 8 ty pes of quality , please choose fro m Highest / Higher / High / Middle / Normal / Low / Lower / Lowest. Frame Rate: select from NTSC: 1 / 3 / 5 / 15 / 30 fps, P AL: 1/ 2.5/5/12.5/25 fps Press Apply to apply the setting changes or Reset to reset without saving the change.
EDN800 25 3.4.2 Camera Camera Settings The "Camera OSD setting" can be displayed on a video monitor and can be configured using the operation buttons on this p age. Image setting Hue : to in crease or decrease hue of video images. It is adjustable from 0~255.
EDN800 26 brightness of the screen. OFF: Disable electronic shutter . BLC : Select ON or OFF for Backlight Co mpensation. ON: When the background of the subject is very bright and the subject itself is dark, set the BLC ON . The BLC will measure the light of th e image center and the lens iris will auto matically set for optimu m image quality .
EDN800 27 3.5 USER User Information Maximum 10 users can be set for using the IP camera. The user information displays the authorized users and access levels: • Sup ervisor/Administrator –a supervisor/ad ministrator has unrestricted access to the Setting menu and can determine the registration of all other users.
EDN800 28 3.6 EVENT An event in the camera is when an E vent T ype is act ivated and causes certain actions to be performed. The e vent ty pe is the set of conditions that specifies how and when which actions will be performed. This table describes how to setup action types and event type.
EDN800 29 3.6.1 Event The settings relating to e vent occurrences su ch as settings for the event occurrence, motion, alarm and time mask can be configured on thi s page. The "Event" page has 4 tabs of the [Event] tab, th e [Motion] tab, the [Alarm] tab and the [Time Mask] tab .

EDN800 34 Mask name: Input a mask name for the new time period. Check the check box for the day to be scheduled: Sun, Mon, T ue, W ed, Thu, Fri & Sat. Set the S tart time and End time for time mask by clicking Up arrow or Down arrow . Or simply press for a full day of event action.
EDN800 35 3.7.1 Date/Time Machine Name Setting Machine Nam e: Enter the name of the camera. The entered name will be display ed in the status display area. Press Apply to apply the setting changes or Reset to reset without saving the change. Set Date/T ime Manually Date: Click the calendar and pic k the date .

EDN800 37 3.7.2 Daylight Saving Set Daylight Saving Check Enable Daylight Saving checkbox to enable day light saving. Set the start time to daylight sav ing time.
EDN800 38 Press Apply to apply the setting changes or Reset to reset without saving the change. 3.7.3 SD Card Setup SD Card Notification: Notification will be made via e- mail when the remaining space of the SD memory card re ached the valu e selected from the following.

EDN800 40 3.7.4 Maintenance Maint enance Serv er Reboot: The unit is rebooted without changing any of the settings. Use this method by pressing Reboot button if the unit is no t behaving as expected. Restore: The unit is restarted and most current settings are reset to the factory defaul t values by pressi ng Restore button.
