4 CUTTING SAFETY W ARNING: Inspect t he area bef ore each u se. Remo ve obje cts (ro cks, broken glass, nails, wire, etc. ) which c an be t hrown by or become ent angled i n line. Hard object s can damage the trim mer head and be thrown causing seri ous injury.
5 OPERATION W ARNING: Be sure to read the fuel informat ion in t he saf ety rules bef ore y ou be- gin. If y ou do not unders tand the safety rules , do not at tempt t o fuel your uni t. Contac t an authorized servic e dealer. FUELING ENGINE W ARNING: R emove fuel cap slowl y when refueling.
6 NOTE: If engine has not started, pull st arter rope 5 more pulls. If engine s till does not run, it is probably f looded. ST ARTING A FLOODED ENGINE Flooded engines can be started by placing the choke lev er in the O FF CHOKE posi tion; then, pull the rope to clear t he engine of ex- cess fuel.
7 MOWING - - Y our trimmer is ideal for mowing in places conv entional lawn mowers c annot reach. In the mowing pos ition, k eep the line parallel to the ground. Avoid press ing the head into the ground as this can sc alp the ground and dam age t he tool.
8 SERVICE A ND ADJUSTMENT S REPLACING THE LINE 1. Move the ON/OFF swit ch to the OFF positi on. 2. Disconnect the spark plug l ead wire. 3. Remove s pool by firmly pulling on tap but- ton. Clean ent ire surf ace of hub and spool. Replac e with a pre-wound spool , or cut a length of 6 meters of 1,6 m m diam e- ter line.
9 TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY Engine will not start. 1 . ON/OFF switch in OFF positi on. 2. Engine fl ooded. 3. Fuel t ank empt y. 4. Spark pl ug not f iring. 5. Fuel not reac hing carburetor . 6. Carburetor requires adjustm ent. 1. Mov e ON/OFF s witch to ON position.
