1. INTR ODUCTION Thank you very muc h for purchasing the EIZO eClient 620L. 1-1. General Description The eClient 620L connects with a Wi ndows T e rmina l Server*, which installed Microsoft Window s NT Server 4.0 T erminal Server Edition or Window s 2000 Server/Advanced Server/Datacenter Server , and this product is used as a terminal using them.

2. CONNECTING THE eClient 620L This chapter explains how to connect the eClient 620L to a WTS. 2-1. Setting up the eClient 620L NO TE • Before connecting the product, set up the monitor after unfolding the base of the stand. WA R N I N G Place the eClient 620L on a strong, stable surface.
2-2. Connecting the eClient 620L NO TE Bef ore connecting the eClient 620L, confirm the follo wing: - The eClien t 620 L is tur ned off . - The WTS is tur ned on. • Connect the peripherals to the appropriate connectors of the unit. 1. In case of connecting the WTS through LAN: Connect the eClient 620L to the ne twork with an Ethernet cable.
3. SETTING U P the eClient 620L This chapter presents how to prep are for a connection with a WTS when the eClient 620L starts up for the first time. 1. T urn on the eClient 620L. The power indicator turns green and a picture appears on the screen. NO TE • When no picture is displa yed, or when the message (No ke yboard connected.

4. Set up the network environment. [Terminal Name] ................ Ty pe the name to identify this unit on the network. Click [Network Properties] and set up connectio n information according to the connection method to WTS/W eb server .
In case of connecting the WTS/W eb through LAN: (1) Double-click [Built-in LAN] icon [IP Address] ........................ Type the IP address of the unit. [Name Servers] .................... Type the IP addr ess of each server when DNS or WINS is used.
In case of a dial-up connection: (1) Double-click [Make New Connection] icon. (2) T ype a name for the connection and select the connection type (Di al-Up Connection). (3) Select a model, set up the TCP/IP settings and Security settin gs. (4) T ype the phone number for the connection.
5. Set up the desktop area. [Desktop Area and Refresh Frequency] ................................... Set the resolution/refresh rate. (The 620L supports 1024 x 768 @60 Hz only). If using this product with portrait orientation, select the [Portrait di splay] check box.
6. Set up the browser connection. Set up if you are setting up a web browse r connection. (1) Select [Internet Options] icon and click [Open]. [General] ............................. Set up the browser. [Connection] ....................... Set up the conn ection method to the browser.
8. Setup the Local sender’ s setting Setup if you are connecting to WTS/W eb server by dial-up connection. (1) Select [Dialing] icon and click [Open] icon. [Location name] .................. C hoose the sende r’s location (click [New] to add a new sender’s location).
4. A DDING & CHANGING A CONNECTION NAME This chapter shows how to add, delete, and modi fy connection names to a WTS. All the settings are managed in th e “T erminal Connection M anager”. 4-1. Adding a Connection Name These are settings for the server connection.
In Use of RDP Pr otocol 1. Display [T erminal Connection Manager]. Click the [Configure] tab and [Add...] to set the connection information of the WTS. 2. Protocol selection dial og box is displayed. Select the “Microsoft Remo te Desktop Client” (RDP).
In Use of the IC A pr otoc ol 1. Display [T erminal Connection Manager]. Click the [Configure] tab and [Add...] to set the connection information of the WTS. 2. “New Connection” dialog box is displayed on the screen. Select the “Citrix ICA Client” (ICA).
Clicking [Finish] to return to the “T er minal C onnection Manager” d i alog box, the registered connection name is di splayed in the [Connec tion Name].
5. LOGON & LOGOFF This chapter shows how to log on to an d log off from a WTS. 5-1. Logon to a WTS / Logoff from a WTS Logon to a WTS 1. Follow the direction from (1) to (3), depending on the environment of the eClient 620L. (1) T o connect and log on to a WTS throu gh local network: Go to step 2.
Multi Session Y ou can log on to the WTS with the sever al connection names, and switch the acti ve sessions. 1. Logon with a Connection Name, as following the previous steps. 2. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [E nd] keys after logon. 3. “T erminal Connection Manager” is displayed.
Logoff fr om the WTS If y our eClient 620L star ts its operation with a desktop 1. Logoff from the WTS. (1) Close a ll applications. (2) Select [Start ] on the taskbar . (3) Microsoft W indows NT Server 4.0 T erminal Server Ed ition: Select [Logoff]. Microsoft W indows 2000 Server / Advan ced Server / Datacenter Server: Select [Shut Down.
If y our eClient 620L star ts its operation with an application 1. Log off from the WTS. Close applications to log off from the WTS. “T erminal Connection Manager” is displayed. If a dial-up connection is running, click the active button of the win dow on the right bottom of the screen.
5-2. Opening/Closing a Local W eb Bro w ser Opening a Local Web Br owser 1. Please follow the directions relev ant on the environment of the eClient 620L.
Closing a Local W eb Br owser 1. Close the local web browser . Select [Close] under the [File] on the menu bar and close the local we b browser . Return to the “T erminal Connection Manager” dialog box. If a dial-up connection is being made, clic k the active button of the window on the right of the screen.
6. USING THE TERMINAL PR OPER TIES This chapter presents how to mo dify all settings of the eClient 620L using the “T erminal Properties”. T o display the “T erminal Properties” during logging on, press F2 in the “T erminal Connection Manager” di alog box.

Mouse [Buttons] ............................. Assigns the primar y mouse button and the secondary mouse button. [Motion] ............................. Adjusts th e speed a t which the pointer moves on your screen and how fast the mo use pointer accelerates as you move the mouse.
Date / Time NO TE • Date and time will return to the default settings if the po wer cord is unplugged. [Date/Time] ........................ Set date, cu rrent time, or time zone. [NTP Server] ....................... Synchronize time with the NTP Server.
Cer tificates Lists the certificates stored in the 620L. A certificate can be registered, if an external disk is connected to this pro duct, a certificate file can be imported. NO TE • When using the Secure Gate wa y , select its cer tificate and click [Add].
Add-on Add-on lists all application so ftware installed in eClient. T o remove software, select it and click [Remove]. NO TE • Neither Microsoft T erminal Ser v er Client nor Citrix IC A Client Software is remov ed. Internet Options [General] ......
Printers NO TE • The eClient 620L suppor ts an LPTx p or t and a COM1 por t. • Use a RDP protocol to set the printer’ s adjustment. • If you are using the IC A protocol, please ref er to the instr uction ma nual of the Citr ix MetaF rame. Adding another printer settings Select [Add Printer] icon, and click [Open].
Deleting a printer settings Select the printer icon, and click [Delete]. Modifying the settings Select the printer icon, and click [Properties]. [Printer Proper ties] dialog box is displayed, change the settings as needed.

When this check box is selected, the “Single Button Connect” dialog box is displayed when th e eClient starts up.

7. SOFTW ARE UPD A TING/INST A LLA TION Y ou can update the built-in/add-on softwa re and install new add-on software. Updating/Installation is performed in the “T erminal Properties”.

3. Preventing from update failure, ch eck if the settings are correct and the network environment is suitab le. Click [Network T est]. If the settings are correct, the fo llowing message is displayed.

8. PRA CTICAL SETUP 8-1. 620L settings By utilizing the DHCP Option function of the DHCP Server , necessary information are supplied by the DHCP Server , and each setting is automatically set every time the 620L is turned on. The following information can be obtained by the eClient 620L.
