I MPORT ANT S AFETY I NSTRUCTIONS • Install the Over-the-Air Module with care. Be sure not to drop any loose parts in the opening. • Do not insert anything into the opening on the receiver other than the Over-the-Air Module. • Be aware that there may be parts or areas of the receiver inside the opening that are warm.

Page 2 I NTRODUCTION The MT2 Over-the-Air (OT A) Module allows you to add tw o dig ital over-the -air tuners to your satellite receiver . This provides the ability to integrate over-the-air channels in to the on-screen Program Guide of compatible receivers for seamle ss viewing by both the TV1 and TV2 viewers.

Page 4 The module port on the back of the satellite receiver m ust be covered if an OT A Module is not installed. Dam age to an uncovered module port is not covered by the receiver’ s Limited Warranty . 3. Install the mod ule into the modul e port, making sure the lab eling on the module is right-side up.
Page 5 4. Connect the cable from your over-the-air antenna to the O VER - TH E - A IR A NTENNA I N port on the module (see Fi gure 3). Only one cable is needed because the module has an internal splitter to prov ide the dual-OT A tuner capabil ity . Figure 3.
Page 6 Setting up the Receiver to Display OT A Channels 1. Using the remote control, press MENU , select System Setup , then Local Channels . Note : Y our Local Channels screen may differ slightly . Figure 2. Local Channels Screen 2. Scan for channels by selecting Scan Locals .
Page 7 6. Select a channel and then select Edit Name to change the way the channel name disp lays in the Program Guide and other channel lists. Y ou can rename only one channel at a time. 7. Use the on-screen keyboard t o enter the channel name. 8. Select Done when you are finished making changes.

Page 9 R EMOVING THE OT A M ODULE Do not remove the OT A Mod ule unless necessary as you will no longer be able to tune to your over-the-air channels if the module is removed.
Page 10 T ROUBLESHOOTING The receiver do es not detect t hat the OT A Module is installed 1. The receiver will display that th e OT A Module is detected on the System Info Three screen. Us ing the DISH Network rem ote control, press MENU , select System Setup , then Installation , then System Info .
Page 11 3. V erify the module is installed correctly . Refer to the instructions on page 3. 4. V erify that the antenna is inst alled correctly and peaked for the desired channels.

Page 13 Inst allation Considerat ions • Follow local, state, and National Electric Code requirements for grounding the over-the-air antenna. • RG-6 coaxial cable is preferred for the O VER THE A IR A NTE NNA I N connection. If you are diplexing the O VER THE A IR A NTE NNA I N and S ATELLITE I N cables, RG-6 cable must be used.

An important point after buying a device EchoStar MT2 (or even before the purchase) is to read its user manual. We should do this for several simple reasons:
If you have not bought EchoStar MT2 yet, this is a good time to familiarize yourself with the basic data on the product. First of all view first pages of the manual, you can find above. You should find there the most important technical data EchoStar MT2 - thus you can check whether the hardware meets your expectations. When delving into next pages of the user manual, EchoStar MT2 you will learn all the available features of the product, as well as information on its operation. The information that you get EchoStar MT2 will certainly help you make a decision on the purchase.
If you already are a holder of EchoStar MT2, but have not read the manual yet, you should do it for the reasons described above. You will learn then if you properly used the available features, and whether you have not made any mistakes, which can shorten the lifetime EchoStar MT2.
